There are always changes.

But I'd be slow to predict anything about Colin Powell. He's been misreported almost as much as Rumsfeld has been.

I haven't been keeping track of the count but this is at least the 200th we have heard about Powell stepping down. So what. Give Zell the job.

Sheesh. THere is no lulling us into a false sense of security with terrorists on the loose. We'll be at the polls no worries.
second THe exit from the white house is so these guys can get on the boards of corporations and start making all the money back for the last 4 years they have lost in public service. I do not fault them for that.

It might be fun to watch the rat reaction to Wolfie moving onto the White House staff.

Watch the Democrats tie him up in the Senate you mean.

You may have a point, there. Unless the Republicans have pick up a goodly number of Senate seats in November . . .

I'm not sure it makes the slightest bit of difference. Yet working in that fish bowl seems like sort of a burnout kind of job. If there weren't some changes, that would be newsworthy.

That's the most recent one I can think of. He was Roosevelt's Secretary of War.

This is not news. Working in the White House means killer hours and heavy stress. Basically zero family life.

Every two-term administration turns over quite a few positions.

I don't think that even the most optimistic predictions have them picking up 9 seats. They would need that many to end a filibuster.

Frist has been interviewed several places this week and said a two-seat pickup in this election would allow him to break most filibusters. I think if Kerry goes nuclear (70's Bush abortion, cocaine) it could push our Senate pick-up to five seats.

Normal, upon entering a second term for many key cabinet and other top aides to leave, they can make a heck of a lot more in the private sector. Living in D.C. even at top cabinet pay is tough.

It's not you and I that I'm concerned about -- it's that wishy-washy Undecided Voter that thinks the contest is over that I'm worried about.

I'd like to see Bo Derek come on board in some kind of profile position.

Yeah... like Cheney being replaced. That whole thing about he fired a dr who had abused drugs. How dare he, unless he is going to get a new dr and step down... blah blah blah
