AP CAUGHT LYING: No boos at Bush rally in Wisconsin (I was there)
9/3/2004 | Trust but Verify

Posted on 09/03/2004 1:04:48 PM PDT by Trust but Verify

I wouldn't have posted this as a separate topic until I heard on the radio on the way home from the rally that the AP had reported the crowd booed when it was annnounced that the former president had been hospitalized. That is a bold faced lie. I understand it was later retracted, but that's like unringing a bell. I do not think it was in error, either, since the writer further stated that 'Bush did nothing to stop them.' Shameful.

The rally was amazing. I don't know how many were in attendance, but the crowd could not have been more enthusiastic. I could be wrong (but I don't think so) but I don't think there's any question Bush will win in Wisconsin. I have worked for campaigns before, and been to rally's before, but I have never witnessed the fervor I did today.

I have pictures in one-hour processing right now (I am resisting the purchase of a digital camera) and when I get them back, I'll try to post them. If anyone can tell me how to do it, please FReepmail me.

So was I, and I agree - nobody booed.

The media are spitballs

Substitute an "H" for the "P" and you'll be 100% correct.

My son and I were directly opposite you. We were on the main floor, straight in front of the podium, about 40 feet out. My son is very tall and was able to photograph over the people in front of us.

Here:

Notice how they put the booing line back in but spruced it up some.

It's the cost of the consumables that concerns me. I'm cheap.

I flyfish and sometimes the weather, the fish, the boat or just me can get water on a camera.

Is there a waterproof digital camera yet?

Thanks!

I HOPE it was a cross. Good.

President Bush is the first politician I can remember who has referred to "the SIN of slavery" in his speech last night.

Today's atrocities in Russia where blood-thirsty, satanic terrorists gunned down fleeing five-year-old children in the back should clarify what Americans and the Judeo-Christian heritage we live under are up against.

The booing is not in the story at the link you provided. Did they change it again?!

I sent an email to AP (info@ap.org) and told them that they should retract this article with the correction that the audience of thousands applauded in agreement with President Bush in wishing former President Bush well. They did NOT boo anyone.

Get the digital camera. Then go to shutterfly.com and set up an account there. You can upload pictures to the site, adjust them just like you would on a picture editing program, put borders around them, etc. Then you can have them print them out. As many or as few of each that you want in any size you want from wallet size up to 16X20 (I think). The pictures are of very high quality and inexpensive. My wife just had 128 4X6 photos printed out for $38 and they were in our mailbox within 4 or 5 days. Hint: wait until they send you a special offer and then get a bunch printed at once, they will email you a new offer every few days.

Then go to photobucket.com and get your free picture hosting account to link or share with friends. You can link to them for displaying here on FR or allow them to view your whole album with an email. Heck, they even put the html coding in for you!

I just got an Olympus but I hear the Kodak cameras are great, too. Avoid the Gateway digital cameras. The basic differences in price are how much optical zoom (get at least 3X), how much "digital zoom" (this is nothing but higher resolution photos but more is better), how much memory (you will probably want at least 64 Mb), the amount of megapixels (look closely at your TV or monitor. See the little dots that make up the picture? Those are pixels. Get at least 3 Megapixels, perferrably 4 Mp) and the size of the viewing screen.

The Olympus I bought was $250 + $50 for a 64 Mb memory stick was a pretty good balance of the above. It goes through a pair of AA batteries about every 60 photos or so but they are cheap.
