646 vicitms of terrorist act in Beslan hospitalized.

03.09.2004, 22.00

“The former hostages are receiving therapy in mobile hospitals and clinics of Beslan and Vladikavkaz,” the source said.

Some 130 wounded people, including children, are in the Vladikavkaz clinic. The republican clinic has 38 patients, including five children, with the severest wounds and traumas, and the children’s clinic of Vladikavkaz has admitted 186 children.

Eighty adults are receiving therapy in the airmobile hospital, 200 in the medical emergency clinic, 32 in the republican clinic, two in the military hospital of Vladikavkaz, and four in the first town hospital of Vladikavkaz.

The town hospital of Beslan has admitted 98 adults, two were sent to the defense ministry hospital in Vladikavkaz, and one is in the Ardon town hospital.

“The majority of patients have bullet wounds in the back,” the sources said.

The storming of the school, was not prepared, the Russian president’s adviser Aslambek Aslakhanov told reporters on Friday. “We were getting ready for dialogue in order to avoid spilling blood,” he said.

Aslakhanov arrived in Beslan by air to take part in negotiation with the hostage takers.

According to Aslakhanov, “ the terrorists demanded the withdrawal of the troops from Chechnya and the release of all the people who had been arrested for attacking the security agencies of Ingushetia on June 22.”

Aslakhanov said seven to 30 terrorists had been in the captured school. There were representatives of various ethnic groups in the gang. It was fully international, he said.

The number of those killed in the Beslan hostage crisis may by far exceed 150," Aslakhanov said.

Seventy-nine victims of the hostage crisis were identified by 9:15 p.m. Moscow time, head of the Federal Security Service’s North Ossetian department and the crisis center Valery Andreyev said.

“Unfortunately, the death rate is mounting,” he said adding that the operation against the terrorists is going on.

OK. You don't. Or you don't want to. I'm not disputing the problem. I'm proposing a solution. Which you are unwilling to hear. Without having one of your own. Let's leave it at that.

That is correct someone could get in a lot of trouble with the feds..

I thinks you failed to read further down on my comment. If you had you would have seen where I typed.

"Show me a criminal or a terrorist that obeys the law."

Terrorist no matter where they are from do not usually respect federal law. As the passengers on the four flights that were hijacked on 9/11 how much respect the terrorist have for federal law. Ask the 18 sailors killed on the USS Cole, how much respect the terrorist had for a the Federal law that makes it illegal to attack any U.S. Ship of war.

And most cases with guns on school property if you review that cases are usually handed back over to the state level even when there has been a murder involved.

After a former local political leader visited the school Thursday, the women in the adjacent room were told there was "good news": They would be released.

What happened? Did they lie to them? Did they prepare them for release and then started shooting?

One report I read said they took the wounded from the initial assault three days ago from the gym and shot them dead in the corridor.

"they want independence for Chechnya"

I don't think you have been paying a lot of attention to the world around you.

The independent Chechnya would be an Islamofascist state where they could train and export terrorists just line Afganistan, Just like syria, Just like Iran.

They pretend this is about independence so that they can be called freedom fighters, they are not freedom fighters they are Islamofascists hell bent on murder.

One of the terrorists was a woman?

I understand these people are evil, but I still cannot comprehend a woman doing this to children.

They are Basayev's famous black widows. Women whose husbands died in Chechnya. They were very involved in the theatre hostage crisis in Moscow. And have been implicated on the planes.

This was the best plan Putin could come up with?

The hostages didn't have food and water. Waiting it out would only make them more vulnerable when Putin's security forces struck (and that's the only way the situation was going to end--with a battle)

I'm sick of it too. I browsed the Koran. It has it both ways.

Read a little deeper ... the warm fuzzies calls for goodness, charity and mercy for for muslims ONLY. All others get the sword.

Yes, I agree more with your plan. I think having weapons inside a school with designated users a good idea. I just think that guns in the hands of most of the teachers a very dangerous thing. But I think having accessible weapons in the event of an emergency a good way to help protect the school

Glad to agree with you, I had a friend (many years ago when this could be done) who went on a cruise with handguns in his luggage. He mentioned this to a fellow traveler who was aghast at the thought of guns in the cabin next to her. But later when a man broke into her cabin and was beating her husband to death, she remembered and ran next door and got my friend and his weapon to come and stop the fight. He did, and likes to tell the story of an anti-gunner who realized in the right time that there is a place and a time for weapons.

"they want independence for Chechnya"

Yep, I believe that as much as I believe:
-- UBL wanted the American troops out of Saudi Arabia
-- The Iraqi terrorisms want the scaves in France allowed
-- etc

Any excuse will do. Some idiot in the media will always believe them.
