Did anyone else hear Willie Brown's comment on Zell MIller and the KKK? I will have to paraphrase, as I have not found the transcript:
Dennis Miller: Well, he is a Democrat.
Willie Brown: Yeah, well a lot of the KKK use to be Democrats. And I think Zell Miller was a lot more comfortable being a Democrat when they were.

The comment was delivered with Brown's typical flair, but I thought it was way off base.

Wrong guy, Willie. That's "Sheets" Byrd you are thinking of.

Why does anyone even bother talking to WILLIE BROWN. He's a blatant fool.
To: Michael.SF.
They - the Dems - are pretty pi**ed at Zell. A lot of commentators and party reps have been trotting out the Dixiecrat and segregationist labels. It's not going to work!

Funny that Clinton thought enough of Zell that he was the keynote speaker at the '92 convention.
Now Old Media will try to portray Zell as a racist. Not going to work.

Willie Brown: Yeah, well a lot of the KKK use to be Democrats. And I think Zell Miller was a lot more comfortable being a Democrat when they were. As with most liberal attempts at wit, you really need a Rube Goldberg chart to figure out what in the heck he is even talking about.

Willie Brown: Yeah, well a lot of the KKK use to be Democrats. No Willie. ALL of the KKK were Democrats!

I'd like to see him say that to Zell's face.

You're absolutely correct. Willie Brown once said that it was impossible for black people to be racist....They could say whatever they wanted against whites, and in Willie's mind, it was not racism, but "justice."

Do you think we could get Zell and Willie to do a duel? I think Zell's honor has definitely been challenged.
To: Michael.SF.
The old race card. When the Dems start using the race card you know they are losing.

This from a man who, when he was the self-styled "Emperor" of the California Assembly, once boasted that "we really pulled one over on those dumb white boys"?
He has about as much "gravitas" on race issues as Al Sharpton or Jesse Jackson!

He got the Dem talking points...there were other reports of Dems mentioning the KKK in reference to Zell.

You always know when the vile left is getting nervous and desperate because they always fall back on the tired old "you're a racist" card.

What a surprise - a democrat, lacking any substantive to say, accuses an opponent of racism.
That Willie Brown certainly is a creative one.
