So Much For Democratic Respect, for the President, and our nation.
September 2, 2004 | Bush4304

During the Democratic Convention, President Bush layed low, in order to show respect to his opposition. The respect was not returned.

Here in my homestate of Ohio, John Kerry is holding a rally at midnight. Just the other day John Edwards was on a early morning major program in order to answere to the truths of this years convention. A few days ago, John Kerry made yet another big speech, all during the Republican convention.

During this election year, Democrats have made it a point to politicize our national security, and to undermind our President's (and just about everyone else's in his cabinet) great efforts and victories in the war on terrorism. So where is the respect? Unfortunatley, the respect is non-existant.

Democrats have went after Bush's record in the National Guard. Now that people are going after Kerry's record in Vietnam, their accusing Bush of being behind the Swift Boat Vets. All the while, George Sorose has been a huge funder for the MoveOn.org adds that have accused President Bush of being Hitler-like, and he is a big man in the Democratic party. Where is the respect? Once again, its non-existant.

Where were the people who are saying that the Swift Boat Vets are "slandering" Kerry, when Micheal Moore came out with his movie? Where were they when moveon.org came out with their add comparing Bush with Hitler? Where were they when the leaders of the NAACP compared Republicans to the Taliban and to the confederacy? Where were they when Al Gore screamed that the president betrayed America? Where were they when Howard Dean said that Bush knew about 9/11 in advance? These types of questions could go on, and on, and on.

Just today I heard Democrats criticizing Zel Miller for making a "angry speech". Once again, WHERE WERE THEY WHEN AL GORE SCREAMED AT THE TOP OF HIS LUNGS THAT BUSH BETRAYED AMERICA???!!! Where were they when Howard Dean screamed??

All these inconsistancies lead me to the same conlcusion, the respect for the truth, our nation, our people, and in some cases even themselves, is non-existant.

Defeat the media by denying them the funds to operate. Don't consume their product.

"During the Democratic Convention, President Bush layed low, in order to show respect to his opposition. The respect was not returned."

Actually, presidential cantidates lay low during the oppositions convention not out of respect, but common sense. They know that the attention is all on the convention, so they take a break. Campaigning during the opposition's convention is a waste of time and money. John Kerry did not show disrespect during our convention. The proper term for what he showed is desperation.

This was one of Zell Miller's main points: that the Democrat Party has devolved to the place where they are treasonously trying to bring down a sitting president during a war, not because he is damaging America, but for purely political reasons. Rush Limbaugh pointed out in his interview the other night with Greta von Sostern that the Democrats couldn't have given the speaches that we have heard from the RNC this week, because for them to thrive, bad things have to happen to America: the stock market must fall, more Americans must die in droves, etc. While the RNC has been going on this week, sometimes on CSPAN-1, CSPAN-2 has been playing old speaches by the likes of LBJ and Bill Clinton. Was this "alternative programming" for the koolaid-drinking Democrats that couldn't be caught dead listening to the other side of arguments? After the evening's major speach block, it seemed like all but Fox could hardly wait to cut to Kerry and Edwards at their manufactured counter events to get their instantaneous reactions.

Loved that FoxNews kept to their schedule - gave a peek at Kerry - and moved back to the convention floor.

Could feel the knot in the Kerry people over their 'choice'. . .knowing the 'numbers' left with Fox.

I loved reading this from Dick; but am somewhat amazed. . .

How could Dick be 'so late smart' when it comes to these scrabby-souled, that inhabit the Demrat party; a Party he shared the table with for soooo long? Better than too-late smart, for sure; but nonetheless; a surprise. Sounds like a genuine 'enlightenment' going on here.

I did resent, however; Dick's dismissive comments about Cheney and his speech as well. (Maybe he will have more appreciation; per his 'second thoughts'; for the integrity of Cheney and his committment to GW and to America.)
