I happen to notice there was some mention of John Edwards and the Girl Scouts. I'm not sure what started that discussion but it made me think about the Scouts.
Now I know the dems hate the conservative cause so much there were reports Boy Scouts were harassed at the dem convention in 2002.
We also know that kerry was actually in Viet Nam and mentions it a time or thousand. Yes, both candidates served and Bush even was gratious to say that kerry's service was honorable.
So they both served and that issue should have died a long time ago, except kerry doesn't have anything else on his resume. Twenty years in the Senate with nothing to show for it is pretty pathetic. It would also help if he had shown up once in awhile instead of collecting a paycheck.
Which brings us to a service to our country that doesn't hand out paychecks just because someone mirrored an assassinated president. The Boy Scouts.
Could the candidates have the same integrity as an eleven year old entering an organization that changes the soap box derby child into the eighteen year old man ready for adulthood?
The Scout Law is twelve rules that each boy has to know.
Here are the rules and how I believe each candidate would obey them.
A Scout is:
Trustworthy - Bush by a landslide. Mister flip flopper couldn't be trusted to say what he means.
Loyal - Bush again. kerry dumps the first wife for the bigger score and I don't think I have to mention the Swifties.
Helpful - Bush again. It's that old "Tax and Spend" the dems can't seem to forget about. Giving somebody something doesn't help. They have to learn to earn it.
Friendly - I have to say this is a tossup. There really isn't anything friendlier than a used car salesman or a politician during an election.
Courteous - Perhaps Bush again. I saw those still pictures that showed kerry slamming into the little old lady when he ran to the Huey helicopter. If it was a video, I would like to think he apologized but there's no evidence of that. There's also no evidence he didn't.
Kind - I tried to give this one to kerry. Anyone locking lips with a hamster should get some kind of recognition. On the other hand, I don't kill birds for a photoshoot. There's also that pesky abortion issue. Bush again.
Obedient - Bush again. Hey, kerry! You're supposed to show up for work once in awhile. Do the job you're being paid for!
Cheerful - Tossup. There was that little to-do in Vegas with kerry and the missus but we don't know what started it.
Thrifty - A lot of people criticize Bush for spending our money like a drunken sailor. Isn't that what politicians do? On the other hand, you would think someone would know how to spend their own money. Bush again. kerry spends Taraazaa's money like a drunken sailor. Oops. I did say their own money, didn't I? Nope, no way can kerry can get this one. Bush again.
Brave - As much as I would love this one to go to Bush, I can't do it. It has to be a tossup between the two. Off set this one to mean kerry would toss himself on a live grenade if it furthered his career.
Clean - Bush looked like a mess when he was moving that wood brush at the ranch at Crawford. He does clean up nicely. Toss up.
Reverent - Bush. This one took a lot of thought. I was going to ignore the abortion issue and say it was a toss up. I can't do it. I know we can never know what's in the hearts of men but this one is a litmus test.
"Senator, you can't lead if you don't know where you stand, BEFORE you look at the polls."
Kerry probably breaks into a sweat when a website asks if he accepts cookies.
But...but...we hardly got to play at all! What good is a chew-toy if you don't get to tear it to shreds? Darn!
"-I have nothing to do with that pit of commie stench that is DU.-" GO BACK TO THE STENCH TROLL!
The folks at DU will be suicidal by morning drive. Watch it on your drive to work folks!
We saved the wings, didn't we?
Guess the speech stuned his beeber, and he came out of hiding. New year's Eve, too: must've been drunk, and registered on a dare.
Well, dude, you tried. I was involved with Scouts for many years and consider the experience one of the defining and most rewarding periods of my life. Did you know Bill Clinton was a Boy Scout for a while? Bet he was damn good at tying knots. Good post.

Crona: I'll probably get banned for this, and I don't care .....He saw it coming at least .....
He's dead, Jim.
(Click here or on the pic).
Stupid. Bush did not go after Kerry's record. Kerry's band of brothers went after his record. Bush denounced the 527 ads and all Kerry will do is whine about Bush attacking his service. Notice Kerry has not attempted to sue the SBVfT. If you can't fugure out why, I'm glad your banned.
You mean the non-existent conjured AWOL?
Bush released his records, ask Kerry to release all 100+ pages of his.
Hold the phones! We have a win...er....loser.
If I had my graphics late last night, you would have felt this earlier!
I know he's been dead, but I have to kick this carcass
I missed a ZOT on my own thread?
Geez, the things I miss by returning to the land of the working class.
Nice job, guys.
The hint was when he tried to say Bush wasn't in the military but then was an expert as to how he enlisted.
Lame.
In the current issue of SCOUTING Magazine, Dennis Hassert, our fantastic Speaker of the House of Representatives and third in line for the Presidency, was noted to have recieved the Silver Buffalo Award. The award is presented for outstanding service to America's youth.
How does this medal compare with three Owies?
Hassert is in for the long haul and has not cut and run like Kerry.
I was in the Owl Patrol during WoodBadge.
kerry doesn't have the intergrity to be an eleven year old Tenderfoot.
1. There were 100 plus open slots in the unit at the time.
2. Fighter pilots slots are always open because of the extensive ADT required (that's Active Duty for Training since it doesn't sound like you have any military experience yourself). Flight school and training plus the extended obligation on account of the training.
3. Texas at the time was (. . . wait for it . . . ) an entirely DEMOCRAT state. Geo.H.W. Bush was one of two lonely Republican representatives in the entire state. He had about as much pull as I have with the mayor of the City of Atlanta.
You want to try again?
Reading your spewings, it's pretty eazy to see you have no clue what the heck your talking about, but you sure like the word "hate".
Care to understand the word? Try the word Treason. It fits sKerry pretty well. The rest of your argument is ignorant. Ignoring facts and ignoring your own eyes and ears if you lived through the late 60's and early 70's is ignorant.
You replied to him with the opening shot!
We just took care of the rest :)
Nah, use suspenders to hod up yer pants...
