Fighting back, Democratic Sen. John Kerry called President Bush "unfit to lead this nation" because of the war in Iraq and his record on jobs, health care and energy prices. He lashed out at the incumbent and Vice President Dick Cheney for avoiding service in the Vietnam War.

"I'm not going to have my commitment to defend this country questioned..." Oh Jeez, he really said it...the old "DON'T YOU KNOW WHO I AM?!?" speech.
This guy's a cartoon caricature of himself.

"I'm not going to have my commitment to defend this country questioned by those who refused to serve when they could have and by those who have misled the nation into Iraq," Kerry said. The reporter really likes this line -- they print it twice in the first couple of paragraphs. If this is the best rhetoric the libs have got, we're in better shape than I thought.

That is such a goofy picture. Why did the campaign allow this to get out?

I'm not going to have my commitment to defend this country questioned by those who refused to serve when they could have I suppose this could be an insight into the current strategy to handle the swifties. Mock outrage and imply Bush is behind them.

Military records are off limits, except if your name isn't John F. Kerry.

Oh yes you are, sonny boy! And a helluva lot more than that will be questioned before we're through with your sorry ass.

Kerry will keep Vietnam and the Swiftees on the front pages. For all his fancy education, the guy is a dumb as dishwater - not that I mind.
To: Belisaurius
Does this mean kerry is fit? Gag me. Their campaign is so sinking.

Let's don't forget, he tried to get out of Vietnam service by seeking a deferment (to go to France), then tried to stay out of going to Vietnam by going into the Navy Reserves, but then GOT SENT to Vietnam.
Bush couldn't have gone to Vietnam in 1972, although many Guard pilots who also flew the F-102in prior years had been sent to Vietnam.
But, as we all know, John Kerry is a hero -- just read all those 100 records waiting to be released once he signs a DD Form 180.
Bottom line, from his 1971 testimony, what was the result? KERRY LIED, GOOD MEN DIED!!!

So once again JFK is insulting the reserves and national guard. He must have given up on the vet vote. This speech is aimed at stemming the flow of the Rat faithful from the sinking ship. His base has slipped. I was expecting a real verbal assault. The Rats no longer have a viable strategic plan.

I love this line. Keeps 'Jenjiss Con' front and center and allows for the endless recitation of his Senate votes.

Kerry only went to Vietnam after his student deferment, to study in Paris, request was denied.
Kerry is jealous of Cheney because he got deferments.
If Bush and Cheney had gone to Vietnam, Kerry would renew his charges of 1971 and say it was all done by Bush and Cheney.

And I just saw an excerpt of Kerry's planned rebuttal for later this evening and it basically sounds like he is going to continue to use more lies to make excuses -
One that particularly caught my attention:
"I guess I'll let the voters decide which is more fit to lead this country - 5 deferments or 2 tours of duty."
TWO tours of duty? How does one serve two tours of duty in 4 months?

Doesn't this guy listen to the lib pundits? You can't be "negative" or it'll cause a "backlash." I mean, look at the huge backlash the Swiftees' ads caused, er or didn't or uh never mind.
To: Shermy
Millions have served during times of war. This alone does not automatically qualify them to be leader of their country. But lets take Kerry at his word and put it up to a vote to only those who have served. Who do you think they would vote for?
