September 2, 2004 -- YESTERDAY, in front of the American Legion's Na tional Convention, John Kerry made his most disgraceful speech since he lied about atrocities to Congress three decades ago. By making promises he doesn't mean and can't keep, he tried to buy the votes of American veterans. Had he offered each vet a $5 bill and a shot of whisky for their support, his performance could not have been shabbier. Before getting to a few examples of his breathtaking cynicism, let's put two crucial questions to the junior senator from Massachusetts:
First question: Sen. Kerry, will you admit that you lied to Congress and the American people when you stated that our troops routinely committed atrocities, and that rape, torture and murder were sanctioned by our military chain of command?
Second question: Will you apologize to our Vietnam-era veterans for the lies you told?
This means a direct, no-waffling, public apology. Will you tell our vets, the living and the dead, that you're sorry?
Of course not. John Kerry wants to have it both ways. But he isn't going to get the military vote. Perhaps the best line making its way around veterans' Web sites these days is: "A Kerry defeat would be the welcome-home parade we never had."

The only veterans' benefit young John Kerry fought for was the right of vets to be spit upon in public.

You bet!! It's time for Kerry to feeeeeeel the karma.
To which the metaphorically-challenged Chris Matthews would bark: "Do you really believe John Kerry is a voracious elongate snakelike bony fish?"
Email this story to everyone you know & tell them to pass it on~! I did!!
All thread on Kerry speaking to veterans groups should have this quotation from Kerry:
"We will not quickly join those who march on veterans day, waving small flags, calling to memory those thousands who died for the greater glory of the United States. We will not readily join the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars."
among the first few follow up posts.
BUMP!
Second question: Will you apologize to our Vietnam-era veterans for the lies you told?
He didn't and he won't and that is the reason the next Swiftboat ad is hitting the airwaves. Goodbye John, your boat is leaving. Enjoy your trip back to Massachussetts and Ted and company. You two can shed a tear together over what Zell had to say tonight.
>The only veterans' benefit young John Kerry fought for was the right of vets to be spit upon in public.<
This is starting to look like it's going to be slaughter. :-)
Wonderful phrase.
Tell you a short story. Was chatting with a neighbor in the parklng lot where I live. Known him for about 8 years now. I new he was Army, but found out today he spent 71-72 in VN. I mentioned I was there in 71.
Neither of us even knew that about each other, much less how many purple hearts, BS and SS we have.
BTW - Kerry is not doing well here in MA.
Please, Ralph: include a third question for sKerry next time...
Sen.Kerry, please SIGN STANDARD FORM 180 so we can finally get all the supporting documentation and get this issue behind us.

Last time Kerry ran unopposed.
Mitt Romney is making sure that EVERY state seat has a republican candidate. From there they can grow a Seanator.
We also now have a new force in Boston for truth, justice, and the American way. Fox25 TV.
They are putting the screws to the dems on a daily basis. They have a morning show to go against today,GMA,etc, and also a 5PM news which is far superior to the usual broadcast garbage.
It's been a good week, but that Kerry is not doing well in MA is the best news I've heard - any poll results/articles you can point me to?
Everything is anecdotal. I don't think pollsters want to waste their time here. But just last night I observed some interesting things. PBS cancelled showing the BBC on their channel 44. BBC was showing whole speeches from the RNC. Local stations have had hardly any news on last night. I think the MSM is in circling the wagons mode. The opening stories on all the MSM outlets here has been local stories and not about the RNC.
If I get more statistical data I'll ping you.
Peters should tell us what he really thinks.
He is saying what most of us Vietnam vets think about Kerry. I especially liked " Does Kerry have no shame at all? No spine, whatsoever? Is it possible to be nothing but a bundle of pure ambition, with no shred of ethics? Is Kerry so hungry for office that he'll change any position to buy a vote?"
Yes.
BRAVO BUMP for Ralph Peters' straight talk!
Fire one!
Fire two!
Fire three!
Fire four!
Forward observer: Adjust fire!
Swiftee window sticker thread - get yours! FReep mail for details on how to get one.
John O'Neill was right and Kerry was dead wrong about what would happen to our POWs and to the South Vietnamese people. God bless John O'Neill, he was and still is completely credible. Whereas Kerry... Thank God the truth is out!
