Listening to the Jay Severin Show.
Hannity is on, and just said that they have found film of Kerry burning down huts in Vietnam. They haven't got permission from the Cavett show yet, but he sounded as if they believed they would have it by next week for the Hannity and Colmes show.
If this film turns out to exist, Kerry will just spin it to say; "See, I told the Senate Committee the truth when I said there were war crimes. And you guys have the nerve to call me a liar! Nothing to see here, let's move along."
The sad part is that the MSM will let him get away with it.
Excerpt from David Limbaugh interview of John O'Neill. This part of a three part interview here.
John ONeill: Probably the most peculiar one, Cam Ranh Bay is where Kerry started. There was no real fighting going on at Cam Ranh Bay. You know, it was a big French resort town and so on. Kerry was in a room. One PCF guy walked in and when he walked in, Kerry had green camouflage paint on his face and he was holding a camera about 8 to 10-12 inches in front of him talking into the camera. This has got to be pretty unusual, you know what I mean? We didnt wear green camouflage paint and there was nothing going on Cam Ranh Bay. The stories about him staging this stuff are legend. For example, Steve Gardner, as crewman, wouldnt participate. He kept wanting Steve Gardner, kind of like a cameraman, for some of the stuff, and Gardner wouldnt do it. So, the topic of he and his camera has been a constant topic for years there among the Swift Boat people who were there with him.

I'm afraid you're behind the times. It is no longer the validity of the charge or the seriousness of the charge. It is now the timing of the charge.
Yes I so .. but I have no idea how to post it
Also .. I don't know what Dick Cavit has .. the part on this documentary doesn't show Kerry lighting the hut himself .. but it does have a hut burning and another building being hit with some kind of cannon (maybe a 30mil gun that shot a shell)
Agree
That would mean that not only did he burn down a village, to document it he went and found ANOTHER village to burn down and get on film!
could be the same incident, and the one referenced in Unfit for Command.
PICTURES are new and they will change everything. In the mentality of contemporary America, it didn't happen unless there are pictures. If Abu Gareb was sans pictures, the story would have been page B7 news after the first day.
If he lied about it afterwards; simply more evidence of his character failure. I recognized it within minutes of listening to him speak at Dewey Canyon III. He was then being controlled by handlers, all spouting severe communist rhetoric and promoting treason and the defeat of amerika. We won the war against communism, but they accomplished goals, the infiltration of academia, the media, and the demonrat party as examples.
I's just not believin dat Kerry is down wit dat. ;)
Goodness, if this is true, we might be TOO successful in crushing Kerry. Which is to say, he's such a terrible candidate, maybe Hitlery will replace him, lol.
Interesting.
This after Kerry himself said that he shot livestock and burned a village down with his Zippo..
Exactly...which is why Brit, Mort, Fred and even Liasson thought it was ridiculous. Heck, as they pointed out, Kerry has been repeating Moveon claims for over a year. The fact is Kerrey also knows what he said is a joke...but the Democrats objective is now to try and link Bush with the SBVT, even if they have to lie about it. These guys are as desperate as I've ever seen them.
They (US armed forces) burnt down villages/huts/hooches in VC areas after the people had been removed to prevent them being used as staging areas for attacks. Unless JFraudK is shown directly as being at the village, ordering it burned, or lighting it himself, your PBS tape is unlikely to help any. Just my opinion, sorry.
"We had virtually to straight-jacket him to keep him under control," the admiral said. "Bud" Zumwalt got it right when he assessed Kerry as having large ambitions -- but promised that his career in Vietnam would haunt him if he were ever on the national stage.

Wow. Can I ask what you thought when you saw it?
I can't believe they have footage of the actual event. My disbelief is based on my notion that toting around a film camera in the jungle during a war has got to be awkward. But seems to me I recall mentions that Kerry would film things in Vietnam. And because some of that footage didn't turn out well he sometimes had to do "reanactments". So I'm supposing this could be the real thing.
If it's a reenactment I guess the defense will probably be that Kerry was simply trying to visually demonstrate some of the atrocities he saw in Vietnam.
Yes, that is explained in the documentary
Abu Graub was page C27 news for 4 months until the photos came out. It was first reported in January.
