What you allude to is one thing that REALLY riles these commies; They have not fully succeeded in flushing the 2nd Amendment in order to get on with the next stage of their agenda; intimidation, persecution, liquidation, and ultimate extermination of their detractors (like us).

The protestors here are pretty bad. The police are doing a great job of keeping them away, but they can't be everywhere. I was attacked by a protestor at 7th ave and 38th last night.

He was pretending to be a republican and gave me literature that said " I Support Bush". It was all porn and I told him that he lied to me and why not be honest and say that he was a protestor instead of lying. He then pushed me up against a wall and started screaming and swearing at me. The cops came and took me to the Garden and then gave me an escort to my seat. The other cop took away the protestor. I will be filing out my police report today.

Other delegates have been reporting the protestors following them around and swearing at the. Mostly they run around screaming 'Yuck Bush' but the first word isn't Yuck.

After a broadway show on Sunday night the police kept the delegates in the theatre because the protestors were getting violent.

There are cops everywhere and they are doing a great job.

It was also announced today that the Anarchists will try to start WW3 tonight.

The letter encourages delegates to go to a spoof / disingenuous website. The pamphlet that is included with the letter states “Yes, Bush Can ‘04” and “Take the USA Patriot Pledge.”



We discourage anyone from recognizing this disingenuous organization and their disguised falsehoods. We also discourage anyone from logging on to their website and should discard the information in the packet.

May have some merit, but be REAL careful not to get into a "misunderstanding" with the NYPD!

Their mission is to keep the Peace, and they won't care much (or be able to readily discern) "good goons" from "bad goons" if the excrement hits the tail rotor, and will be busting heads and pitching butts into paddywagons rather indiscriminatley until everybody smartens up and agrees to play nice.

That's not to say that some LEOs are not open to occasional off-the-record vigilanteism under dire circumstances...
But you really need to cooridinate (Veeeery discretely) with them in advance.

Suffice it to say that I have know LEOs who were getting their heads pounded in with a rock by a mob of pukes to not be too fussy about a party of "Good Ol' Boys" who happened on the scene nor what they did to save said Officer's bacon.

It seems that about 17 dopers all fell down about 3 flights of stairs all at once all of a sudden, and were seriesly injured. Awfully careless bunch, they was.

I remember having a carload of dimwits pulled over on the Interstate that passed through the same city in NH and seeing 3 or 4 pickup trucks stop over in the other lane and wait for me to clear.

I attended a "Support the Troops" rally last year in front of the Texas State Capital in Austin. I was shown on all local TV stations voicing my support for our Troops, while holding a large American flag supported by a long 2 1/2 inch wooden doyle, which would look great impaled on a commie-anarchist-Kerry-supporter.

Soon after the rally started, the traitors started to show up and counter our rally. I was on the lookout for them, and as soon as I saw them arrive, I got as close to them as I could before the Texas Rangers formed a line between us.

We informed the pukes that it was not us who were being protected by Texas' finest, but it was them.

Without exception, everyone of the Rangers I spoke with had contempt for those animals. Even so, they were packed with integrity and duty, and would have cracked my head if I had tried to cross their line, which I had no intention of doing.

Well, it seems that our Northern "Yankees" were indeed able to manage the situation handily, as did elements of the Union Army during the "Draft Riots" in New York City in July of 1863.

Thankfully, the situation this week did not even begin to approach the devastation of that melee!

It may be interesting to note, BTW, that the Democratic Party which essentially controlled NYC at the time was instrumental in fomenting much of the destruction and carnage associated with that event, and Republican owned businesses were selected for destruction, as were many Republicans (and black Residents) themselves.
The rampant terrorism lasted about a week before Federal Troops, still recovering from the horrendous Battle of Gettysburg, were able to restore some semblance of order.

Isn't it interesting how some patterns in History seem to re-appear from time to time?

Now in retrospect, it seems that some of my concerns for the safety of Delegates, Dignitaries, Security personnel and Counter-Protesters among others may indeed have been unwarranted. So any who now want to label me as "paranoid" are free to have at, and I'm frankly glad that they can.

I saw some patterns developing reminiscent of more recent history from the 1960's and '70s which were associated with things getting out of hand at the time. Although I forget the exact date, does anyone remember the "Long Hot Summer" of riots, looting, and destruction in many urban areas?

The fact that nothing nearly as ominous happened during the GOP Convention, despite many of the old warning signs developing (now combined with the ominous threat of domestic Islammoterrorism and enemy WMD deployment), can be attributed to a number of fortuitous factors.

First, gratitude and kudos are abundantly deserved by the NYPD and all of the many fine Federal, State, and Local Public Safety and Emergency Services agencies involved in the event's security.

Even though a few protesters managed to get through on to the Convention floor and in at least one instance within close proximity of our VP, all they were able to do was be rude, obnoxious, and disrupt the proceedings for a minute or two now and then.
If any more sinister devices than signs or whistles were smuggled in, they were not employed, and now many of us can breathe a great, refreshing sigh of relief!

Out on the street, if any one was injured more severely than that undercover Officer on the scooter (who we understand is well on the way to recovery after only an overnight stay in hospital) or any significant property damaged, we have yet to hear about it. The major perp in that assault, it turns out, is one of the local street thugs with a significant rap sheet for antisocial behavior, and has no apparent connections to any of the "protest" groups represented at the affair whatsoever.

It was cool last night for the season, and that tends to have a pacific effect on people. When it's hot in the city, people are often more irritable, cranky, and drink a lot of beer. That can contribute to a volatile situation.

When the night is cool and calm, as it was up here last night and I assume was much the same in NY, the rabble is more apt to gather indoors (which disperses them into smaller groups), smoke dope, and just mellow out.

So the weather, while menacing Florida and the Southern States, was a pacific blessing to NY.

And I don't think that the possibility of invisible but mighty reinforcements among the host of dedicated and diligent Peacekeepers on duty last night should be discounted entirely.
A lot of people, including many a FReeper, was holding this Conference and the City hosting it up in fervent prayer, and has been faithfully all week.

We may not have been able to see that holy "Hedge of Protection" or Angelic phalanx around the President, his Family and supporters, and the gathering in general - but I have no doubt that it was there all along.

So "paranoid" I may have been; but currently I'm too busy thanking and praising the Almighty (as well as his many dedicated Helpers) to be terribly contrite about it.
