Sorry for starting this thread so early. Is this like calling "shotgun" three days before the trip starts LOL?
I was trying to find out the time that the Senator's speech will occur. I found nothing at the Legion website (www.legion.org), nor at the Kerry site, nor at CSPAN. When will the speech be given?
Anyway, here is a thread for people to post their comments.
I think we need to email some news agencies and ask if they can get this question answered by his Campaign
He's rushing through this speech. No pause for applause lines and the Legion sure isn't interrupting.
here is some applause but it's for the Special Forces, not for the Monday Morning quarterbacking plan he's coming out with now.
I repeat: NOTHING! No applause for the last five minutes. Oops, tepid applause for "the best trained fighters in the world." No vets standing behind him. Couldn't risk it.
Saw one shot of audience, men behind him not cplapping.
He must have requested this camera view, so we couldn't see audience better.
Would "political whores" be too strong, or too cheap a shot, here?
President Bush got a much better reception but I hate to see ANY applause for this snake.
Says he would have done everything differently in the war on terror. All American in Tora Bora. GEts some applause at that. Would not have diverted resources from Afganistan, would have given inpsectors more time to being other countries to our side. Man, which is it? ALl aAmerican. or combined forces? He flip flopped on that in two sentences. Whadda putz.
These AL guys really are letting me down.
A lot of veterans are like a lot of other oldies.
Theyre just there to hear about all the free stuff theyll be getting.
(but I sincerely thank them for their service anyway, unless they're arguing over seven cents with the supermarket checkout girl in front of me.)
Cites failure to guard nuclear sites despite WMD being the reason to go in.
He claims terrorists there that weren't there before. Iran has extended its influence.
He knows it's hard to "talk truth to power".
Even the president acknowledged he miscalculated. Kerry claims in truth the president ignored warnings. Kerry disagrees that they have the same position on Iraq.
It's not that he would have done just one thing differently. Would have done almost everything differently.
Speaks of going after Osama in Tora Bora differently. Never would have diverted resources so quickly from Afghanistan before the job was done. We could have brought other countries to our side. I would have made sure we listened to our senior military advisors. Would have built a strong coalition from around the world.
When he first started speaking, you could see some vets behind him. But it's such a tight camera shot, you can't see them during the speech.
Isn't it revolting? I just asked sarasota if he/she thinks Kerry will start to slither and hiss next...heh heh heh...
I was half listening to him, so I didn't hear whether he was claiming the General was at Walter Reed or if they were separate visits.

Naw, said he visited the wounded at WR.
I think the creep is winning over the vets...
He never would have gone to war without a plan to win the peace.
"I cannot believe he went to Walter Reed and there wasn't one story about it, even if they didn't let his camera crew in. There would have been a shot of him entering or leaving."
-- That's just not true. Don't you remember how quietly Kerry paid his respects to Ronald Reagan? No media attention on that at all!
Here comes Vietnam again. Why didn't he fund the troops?
