Kerry appearance at American Legion - live thread

Sorry for starting this thread so early. Is this like calling "shotgun" three days before the trip starts LOL?
I was trying to find out the time that the Senator's speech will occur. I found nothing at the Legion website (www.legion.org), nor at the Kerry site, nor at CSPAN. When will the speech be given?
Anyway, here is a thread for people to post their comments.
TOPICS: Business/Economy; Constitution/Conservatism; Culture/Society; Government; News/Current Events; Politics/Elections
KEYWORDS: 2004vote; americanlegion; kerry

Really weak applause (almost none) for his activity on POW-MIA, and for his Agent Orange bill. Gets more applause for promises, than for past actions.

Is he talking about the North Vietnamese Army? Must be. He certainly didn't keep faith with us.

I must have woken up in an alternate universe.

I cannot believe he went to Walter Reed and there wasn't one story about it, even if they didn't let his camera crew in. There would have been a shot of him entering or leaving.
I REALLY demand proof before I believe him.

No showing of the audience size...no surprise. The applause is rather tepid but he's got a few guys in the back that are making a lot of noise. The rest seem to be giving polite applause. It's not clear yet how much support he has and if he has plants there, we will never find out about it.

Yes, it is. Completely disgusting.
Did you see the President speaking to this group yesterday?
He had lots of people behind him during his speech. Maybe Kerry was afraid of having veterans behind him/

That's what I was thinking. It seems I heard a number of the VFW didn't even go to his speech.
The applause don't sound loud - but that's a hard call depending on how the sound is set up.
I really was wishing they'd have some that would have turned their backs.. tho' maybe they are - as they have not show any crowd shots that I've seen.

Sad. These AL guys let me down. This guy disqualified himself in 1971, there is no coming back from that. PERIOD!!
How can he say "He's gonna stand by those who are serving today" He can't say that credibly.
These AL guys really are letting me down.
To: Bob
He's getting a he!! of a lot more than I had expected he would. He got the same at the last speech with the vets
But the pictures showed many vets turned their back on him

I'm waiting for him to blame his prostate cancer on Agent Orange.
He's gone everywhere else, but there.
