Like I said in another thread, Arnold makes for a more convincing Vietnam Vet than Kerry does. Whacked!

Pretty ballsy to bring up Tricky Dick - and pretty skillful to pull it off!

Whatever else can be said of Schwartzenegger, it cannot be said that he is lacking in nerve. Tonight has truly marked him as a national political figure, not a mere aberration ala Jesse Ventura...

Ping me, would you, when any of the scorched-earthers appear to admit what a colossal mistake they made in boosting Bustamante, and how glad they are now that they weren't successful? Unless they're too busy combing The Bee or the LAT for negative articles to post.

I turned to me wife and said, "This is one of the big reasons we voted for him: what he could do for President Bush." She agreed.

To quote myself from Why This Far-Right, Pro-Life Christian Plans to Vote for Schwarzenegger, "he will support politicans who are pro-life. He has already pledged to campaign vigorously for our pro-life President [which he did last night]. He will campaign for pro-life Senatorial and Congressional candidates [already has for McClintock]. This is, in the long term, good for the issue" (10/5/2003).

The libs are claiming that Arnold is a liar because he said he watched the Nixon/Humphrey debates. According to the transcript he said presidential race. Did anyone watch it and notice what he said?

One of my liberal friends claims he watched it and he said debate.

The proverbial "walk-off homer." It was a tremendous speech. Despite all the years in Hollywood, Arnold comes across as a genuine human being.

As I recall, there was no presidential debate in 1968.

You said: "If you want to be a democrat, go to France." Actually, you may tell Americans, If you want to be a democrat, go to Canada."

RANKINGS SO FAR:

1) Giuliani - A - Hit all the right notes, inspiration, very convincing.

2) McCain - B - Fairly standard fare, some good lines, bonus points for the zing at Michael Moore.

3) Arnold - C+ - Great delivery, Lots of recycled lines from his recall speeches, too many cliques and movie lines (tough guy movie quotes are getting stale at this point, Arnold), appropriate subject matter to appeal to all Republicans (wish he would impliment his own "fiscally conservative" beliefs)

Some of his naysayers just REFUSE to admit he's GREAT for the GOP.

Thankfully, POTUS is not one of them.

I agree with you on Guiliani and McCain, but I think Arnold deserves higher than a C. Maybe an A-. His going through the long list saying "then that makes you a Republican" was great. But that's just my opinion. He was speaking to the choir with me, so I don't know how independents took it.

Arnold was GREAT.

The detractors here notwithstanding.
