I'm 27, male, in love with the twins, think they are ditzes, yet they are funny.
I bet they've scored major points with the 18-30 crowd judging by the horror/consternation of all the old fuddy-duddies on FR and on the networks.
To: Limbaudda
They were a hit-- big time.
To: TheBigB
You must be young. Ever took a Polariod picture? These 22 year old kids even knew this. I liked their hamster line. It died.

I thought they were a little silly, but I loved the hamster story--"We had a hamster too...Let's just say he didn't make it." LOL!

I thought they were great. So many people love the President because of his humor and his image as a man you could sit down and talk to...I would have been disappointed if his children had been any different. I am happy they didn't come across as phony kids of privilege.

It's a line from an Outkast song. Don't feel bad -- most delegates had no idea what that meant, either.

I agree. To older generations (including some from the cusp of "Gen X"), they may not have worked well. But this convention is reaching to as many segments of Republican/Republican-leaning voters as possible. They appeal to the current crop of university kids. Also, they are mucho cute.

Shake it like a polaroid picture....back in the old days people would shake their polaroid pictures vigorosly to help them develop.

I'm 33, but I've never had a Polaroid camera. :) I assume you have to shake the pic?

Most people did, but it wasn't good for the film. Now Polaroid prints a warning to NOT shake the pictures while they are developing. :D
To: Abigail Adams
The Sex in the City comment was NOT charming. It embarrassed their grandparents. It wasn't cool it was crude.

They sucked. They actred like dopey little girls and showed little respect for their role as President's daughters.
Sorry, but when I was 22 I knew how to act appropriately.
Fred Barnes was right, families have no place at these conventions. First Ladies maybe but kids?
No dice

**... their age group isn't watching***
I don't necessarily agree with this statement. I happen to fall into their age group and got all of the pop culture references. They weren't talking to older voters, so I don't think people should be so hard on them. I don't know many 22 year-olds that could do what they just did.

I love them and believe they probably helped their dad alot.
They came across very sweet, fun, and real.
To: Gunder
Wasn't planning on doing much talking, really...
Yeah, they're the President's daughters. I'll shut up now. Plus my girlfriend is tapping my shoulder and doesn't think my comment was that funny...
