More to the political point, he could begin to change hearts and minds in the black community.

Well, if he isn't, I'd be relieved. I used to respect MM, but ever since I read that, I've been working up a real dislike for him.

It's been known for quite a while that Don King is a Bush supporter

. Don King doesn't like anyone, including Uncle Sam, getting a bigger cut of his fighters' paychecks then he does.

Remove the word "fighters" (since I don't have any), and King and I have something in common.

Really? Do you know any more about the story? Was he arrested both in '54 and '59 for murder? Was he convicted?

Well, that must mean he thinks GWB will be reelected, and he must smell some kind of opportunity. Maybe he's got a bet on the outcome with the Vegas books.

I had read time and again that he likes Bush because Bush is a fighter.

ummm. I'm sorry. Did I say murder? I meant umm, m...uh...MERGER! That's it. It was a flaky business deal.

I can't imagine Don King feeling comfortable in the company of the likes of Kerry and Edwards. And then there is the image of Kerry on his bike.

Why not Don King a Repub?

What person [read: character] better epitomizes the actualization of the America Dream, than Don King?

What person better demonstrates anyone can make it in the United States of America, than Don King?

What better person is there -- besides Prof Williams, Justice Thomas etc... -- to prove the bullshit the Liberal-Socialists have been pitching to the black community is just that, bullshit?

I'd like to buy Don King a nice fat ceegar & a good beer.

Forget about the hair, that's just his schtick, look at what he's accomplished using only poor *&* hungry kids from the lowest rungs of society as his vehicle.

Don King's a "one-off" & as such Don King's "OK".

He did his thing, and earned a fortune the old fashioned way.

...Don King earned it.

I've noticed that. I mean, I'm glad corrupt businessmen and untalented idiots like Don King and Brittny Spears vote for us, I'll take any vote I can get, but I'd rather not have them be figureheads for the party.

Fret not. he's a smart rat.

He made an appearance on Your world with Neil Cavuto this afternoon, and Cavuto asked him why he was at the RNC. King said that he was a D, and proud of the fact that he was going to be voting for GWB, and that it was because GWB had a vision for a better 'Merica. (paraphrasing)

Cavuto then asked the harder question of why the President got 9% of the AA vote. King said that is because the President isn't known in the black community.

I could have sworn that pigs were flying this afternoon.

Koch was almost a right wing conservative when it came to discussing his reason for supporting the president. His comment of "I would rather them be dying there than dying here."

Eh, lighten up Francis. King may be shady, but he's seen as a character more than anything.
