MTV, ROLLING STONE and the rock and roll establishment -- past and present -- have cast their vote, and their man is John Kerry.
So on Sunday night when John Kerry's daughters were announced to speak at the annual MTV VIDEO MUSIC AWARDS, the MTV youth were expected to welcome his daughter's as pop culture princesses.
Instead, in an era of the unexpected, the daughters of the Democratic candidate were met with a resounding wall of boos at the filming in Miami.
From the moment Alexandra and Vanessa started speaking, the boos outweighed anything close to cheers, and the reaction turned worse when the daughters asked the VIACOM youth to vote for their father. So shocked by the reaction, the taller of the two daughters tried to 'shhhhhh' her peers to no avail.

You're a biiiit late, Kent. ;)

That's great. I really think my generation is a lot more conservative than people give us credit for. We are Reagan babies.
Was a Bush representative there?
Don't know why but I kind of feel sorry for them.
There are two threads circulatng on this already, but I watched the replay and yes, they definitely received some boos. At the risk of sounding extremely catty, I think the blonde one (don't know which is which) has an extremely unattractive nose and it ruins the rest of her face. She must have Babs as her role model. She certianly has the money, I would have had a nose job years ago.
I have a feeling that the Bush twins would get a whole lot of cheers and quite a few cat calls as well.
This is great - in Miami and at an MTV ceremony!!! This certainly counters to the "10s of thousands of GOP protesters in NYC."
There might be hope for the next generation after all! Perhaps they are rebelling against their 60s era liberal parents! Imagine that - being a rebel equating to be being conservative.
It will be interesting to see how the 18-25 demographic votes this year.
GO BUSH!!!!!!!!!!!
The fans may have suspected them of falsifying the awards.
Rather amazing....and I would have thought they'd be supported....HA...so did they.
In my defense: different source (Drudge), as well as different headline (which is why the one I used didn't come up on Search). :)
I don't understand this. I would assume that the MTV crowd would strongly favor Kerry.
The Bush girls WERE there, by video; and they DID get cheers!
When it switched back to the Kerry girls, there were more boos!
The Bush girls are here in NYC, they were at a party and previously taped a statement. MTV edited it to have the to sets of sisters talking to each other. It was hard to tell since the camera kept on the Bush girls soley when they were talking but I didn't hear any background yelling when they were out.
'So shocked by the reaction, the taller of the two daughters tried to 'shhhhhh' her peers to no avail.'
I think they'd take insult to being called "her peers".
They shoudda brought the hamster!
Almost brings a tear to my eye...brings back memories of Hillary and the 9/11 benefit concert. Ahh, yes...Hillary in ol' crusty and the room filling boos of the NY firefighters.
