John Kerry adviser accuses Vietnam veterans of war crimes

John Kerry's spokesman on veterans issues, John Hurley announced on Fox News Sunday August 22 that John Kerry was right when he accused US troops of committing atrocities against civilians "on a day-to-day basis with the full awareness of officers at all levels of command."

Why would Hurley continue to repeat John Kerry's malicious slanders knowing that they had been completely discredited? Furthermore, why is the media trying to give credibility to the views of this John Kerry spokesman on veterans issues even though he has been exposed as a calculating liar? Well, I don't think I need repeat that question.

Lying seems to be second nature to Hurley because on Monday August 16 he appeared on MSNBC's 'Scarborough Country' where he falsely stated that that the Washington Times had called Unfit for Command a pack of lies. The following Wednesday the Times published a scathing denunciation of Hurley's own lies.

Like John Kerry, on his return from Vietnam Hurley, now a Boston Lawyer, also accused US troops of being war criminals. Among those he condemned was the engineering battalion with which he served.

Tom Perdue, who served in the same battalion, was so outraged by Hurley's lies that he tracked him down and confronted him with his own slanders. Hurley was forced to admit that he had slandered his comrades. Yet this liar refused to correct the public record. Nevertheless he now has the nerve to go on Fox News to repeat the same vicious slanders in order to protect John Kerry.

They don't get any more despicable than Hurley.

But why would Hurley and John Kerry continue to slander US troops? Hurley helped set up the pro-Hanoi VVAW (Vietnam Veterans Against the War). In this he had the support not only of Jane Fonda but also the CPUSA (Communist Party of the United States of America) along with the Black Panthers and various other domestic terror groups. None of these unsavory links deterred John Kerry from joining and then becoming a full-time organizer. So much for his patriotism and integrity.

So it was certainly no coincidence that the policy statements and political demands of the VVAW, which John Kerry supported, were identical to those of the CPUSA, which in turn took both its funding and its marching orders from the Kremlin.

Now John Kerry was once asked whether the group's communist links bothered him. Certainly not, was his response. According to his political logic getting rid of pro-Hanoi activists and other communist sympathizers would have the effect of "seriously dividing and weakening the movement, and making it less effective."

VVAW is still with us. A mere two weeks after the Twin Towers atrocity it had the gall to publicly announce that the "use of massive military power will only escalate the cycle of violence, spreading more death and destruction to more innocent people with no end in sight. ... We see many parallels between Vietnam and Afghanistan." It went on to say that America really had it coming.

A couple of years later these America-haters called on Americans to oppose the "war on terrorism". It then equated the Patriotic Act, which Kerry and most of his fellow Dems voted for, with terrorism disguised as "public safety".

Considering that both Hurley and John Kerry refused to denounce the VVAW's post-9/11 statements it would appear that they are still in agreement with this anti-American organisation.

Hurley's anti-American activities must have greatly impressed Rep. Robert Drinan of Massachusetts, a member of the Congressional Black Caucus, because he put Hurley on his campaign staff. Drinan was also a vocal supporter of the murderous Fidel Castro. (Leftwingers like Drinan have no trouble with child-killers so long as they are socialist dictators). He also supported the Chile Committee for Human Rights, a Soviet front organization set up by a Stasi agent.

Drinan, like John Kerry, was an avid supporter of Central American Soviet-backed Marxist-Leninist thugs, as was Hurley. Is there a pattern here? I damn well think so.

And now we have the disgusting Hurley doing the bidding of John Kerry by once again sliming war heroes.

Because lies are the only thing John "Empty Suit" Kerry has to sell.

There is no "there" there.

They keep telling us that one shouldn't "question the service" of one particular Vietnam vet--the guy who came to power by questioning the service of all Vietnam vets.

Kerry and Hurley fail to realize that you can fool some of the people some of the time but you can't fool all of the people all of the time.

Kerry lied again in his 1971 testimony. Kerry stated that Blacks had the highest percentage of casualties in Vietnam. Percentage of what? 86% of the fighting force in Vietnam was Caucasian 12% black.

And they want this issue to go away?

Most of the electorate was probably willing to:
a. presume that Kerry's service was worthy,
b. prsume that his medals were honesty won,
b. forget his slanderous hearsay "testimony", and
c. ignore his providing aid & comfort to the enemy.

Kerry placed that goodwill at risk with his convention
focus.

By authorizing these continuing content-free attacks
on the SBVFTs, he has completely sabotaged 30 years
worth of clever construction on his house of cards.

The wind is rising.

The left slandered American in general and Vietnam Vets in particular in the 70's. Just this year they started in again by trying to pump up the Abu Ghraib story. Kerry himself has tried to say that this went all the way up to Bush and Rumsfeld. They just never quit.

John Kerry's spokesman on veterans issues, John Hurley announced on Fox News Sunday August 22 that John Kerry was right when he accused US troops of committing atrocities against civilians "on a day-to-day basis with the full awareness of officers at all levels of command."

Very interesting quote especially in light of what was published today in Daily Telegraph. A very similar statement made by another Kerry supporter:

"Meanwhile a new Swift Boat Veterans for Truth television campaign shows veterans accusing Mr Kerry of "treachery" for testifying that atrocities were committed in Vietnam. Williams [British-born author of Deserter, a book challenges the President with details of how he used his father's influence to join the Texas Air National Guard as a trainee pilot] warned: "There will be blowback, because it is a documented fact that atrocities occurred, and also that Kerry did not accuse all Vietnam vets of committing them."

Kerry campaign attacks President over 'war honour he did not earn

For anyone watching this campaign from the outside it seems obvious that the only chance Kerry has is to immediately put a stop to the discussions about the Vietnam war and his anti-war activities. But judging from these two quotes the Kerry campaign is going for a kamikaze attack.

To run a campaign with slogans like "US soldiers were (are) baby-killers" is obviously doomed to abysmal failure. No amount of "nuancing" like "he was right to be against that war" etc will help.

I've always been optimistic and felt pretty sure that president Bush will win this election. But after what has happened the last few days I would say that senator Kerry has a few days left (until the end of the GOP convention) to rein in his most leftist helpers and change his own course. In all likelihood it will be too late even to get close to an election win, but if he doesn't give up on the Vietnam debate immediately I'm certain we are going to witness a victory for GW Bush of reaganesque proportions.

A generation of slandered vets has arisen with their heads held high.

Payback is sweet!

This will go over very well with the Swifties -- it will just energize them more to bring down Kerry.

I need to send them more money.

1. Yeah but they all payed the price for his lies and that group of liars he belonged to

2. That was only part of what he did when he got home

Yep, and both your #1 and #2 are reasons why he should never have run on the "Vietnam issue".

This time around those who were the victims of his lies don't have to rely on the H&BM (horse & buggy media) but have access to the Internet, radio talk shows, cable networks etc. The leftists can no longer keep the "silent majority" silent. A fact that very few in Kerry's elitist circles seem to have understood.

Supposedly Kerry was asking for time on 60 min. and MTP on Sunday evening to again repeat his war criminal line and lay the blame on Richard Nixon and his administration.

I was wondering if his friends in the media were going to allow him time to do such self destructive thing......we shall see tonight.

Having been in the same AO as Kerry at @ the same time frame...(Only inland in the swamps with the grunts)
I have to speak.....hopefully others more qualified will also speak on the matter...
How come these guys don't talk about the (alleged) Civilian's "atrocities" against the US military

Things like telling the enemy where we were setting up for the night...our troop strength...hiding their weapons for them...taking care of their wounded.....watching their ambush sites...manning their claymores...detonating 155 rounds they strung up in trees....sniping...spider holes...daisy chained fragmentation grenades...grenades in cans with fishing line trip wires...

These so called "civilians" they cry about were dedicated VC every one of them....

One of my company's platoon Sgts went back to Vietnam a couple of years ago and married his former sweetheart...one of the girls from the village we were supposedly protecting from the VC

He now speaks a little Vietnamese and his new in laws trust him...so they all told him how sorry they were for KILLING OUR GUYS...

They related a story of how they set up an ambush around dusk to KILL HIM...and waited until they saw his RTOs antenna...when they had it in sight in the tall grass they blew their claymore...the Sgt happened to be walking slack on that patrol and wasn't injured...his RTO a kind man who brought food for the villagers and played with their children was killed...They said they were very upset by this...(It did not stop them from killing others of our company however)

His new relatives showed him citations awarded them by both the National Liberation Front (Viet Cong) and the North Vietnamese...

His wife was 14 or 15 when the VC recruited her ( everybody remembers her she was the prettiest girl in the ville)...and of course any refusal was a death sentence for her entire family...

"Innocent Civilians"....those who didn't walk that ground might call them that....

Burning the VCs rice...destroying his hospitals and sanctuaries and killing him and his comrades does not qualify as a 'war crime' or an atrocity in my book....

your mileage may very...but you probably don't want to hear what my opinion is of that...
