On the eve of the Republican Convention, this is real bad news for Kerry. Kerry's at his lowest level of support since before the DNC and Bush has his biggest lead since the Reagan funeral

Great News - 48-45 (this is the first real movement we have seen GWB way in months when looking at Rass poll) - Hopefully his weigthings have remained the same and he isn't "tweaking" here trying to catch the other national polls -

Now what we need to look for is a poll or two to show GWB with the 50% mark in the the head to head -

Kambodia Kerry's innermost mental and spiritual landscape must be a particularly bleak, joyless place, right about now; crowded to the (non-existant) rafters with thoughts of... of...

... well: of just finding some fast, simple way of getting all the hurting to stop, really, I guess.

The vooooiiiiiiiiiices... listen to the vooooiiiiiicessssss, Johnnnnnn... the voices are your FRIENNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNDS, John... :)

Whoa...take a look at the rasmussen link...
ras compares Bush and Kerry on a number of poll questions
in addition to electoral college score and popular vote.
But on the question of winning the war on terror ras says

Winning the War on Terror US 46 Terrorists 29

Is rasmussen equating Kerry with the terrorist??
Fraudin slip Kerry = Terrorist best friend???

Other survey data released today shows that just 21% of Americans believe the United Nations is our ally in the War on Terror. Public assessment of France is even bleaker.

Claiming France will save the day if he becomes president will turn out to be a real millstone around his neck.

Heh! A bounce before the convention and another one afterwards. Liberals' stomachs are in their throats over this one.

...new polling data from Maryland, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Texas, Virginia, Washington, and Wisconsin (at 3PM today).

These poll results are going to be interesting. And yes, polls are starting to matter now as we approach Labor Day weekend - the true kickoff of the campaign season.

I'm especially interested in seeing Michigan, Pennsylvania and New Jersey. These are states that have been in the Kerry column all summer but I think they are very winnable by Bush. Yes, New Jersey. It will be interesting to see North Carolina too - Bush should be padding his lead there, all but eliminating Pretty Boy Edwards as a factor in this race.

Here's the daily hoot from DU.Armstead

Why is it the worse Bush gets the more popular he gets?

The Swifty Boat smear was horrible. Bush's speeches are moving into his crazed bully boy mode. Iraq's going downhill. The economy shows terrible statistics.

You'd think with all of that and more, Bush would be plummeting. Instead he is on an upswing.

I am bewildered. It seems the worse Bush gets and the more he wrecks the country, the more people like it.

Is this my imagination? I hope so.

Armstead

I'm afraid poor Armstead is terminally confused.
