Tactical Assessment of NYPD for Direct Actionists, Some Notes on the Strategic Importance of the Protests

...After any action, leave the area as quickly as possible. Change and swap clothes with friends, and remember that we attempted to gain the permits supposedly guaranteed by the Bill of Rights. The Declaration of Independence states that the correct response to tyranny is rebellion. The people are sovereign, not the state. If they choose to break the law, then they are the rebels and we are the defenders of liberty...

Don't waste your psychic energy fretting about the police. Keep sober. Plan your range of action and do it. Don't waste time on DTs (undercover detectives) except to try and lose them. Invisible Bloc tactics of "everybody in khakis" is really only for those who plan direct actions. If you are a radical, don't wear the subculture uniform that says to police: Arrest that guy.

TRY NOT TO GET ARRESTED ON SUNDAY. It's going to be a long week and for the protests to be successful, they need to be sustained. Experienced activists have better things to do than sit in jail.

A popular resistance to the war and domestic repression will energize tens of millions alienated from any political action, and will let people under threat of American cruise missiles and F-16s know that we do not consent. We are not "good Germans" doing the leaders' business. We are a free people whether the government gives us permission or not. If we have to choose between the warmongers and the world: we choose the world. Our audience is small town America, the city we live in and the rest of the world. The conservatives are a tiny minority and the liberals defeated.

The true face of the Democratic Party is on display for all America to see! This ought to be good for another 3-5% of the vote going to GW.

That is what I was thinking. Many FReepers do alot of activism on non-conservative sites. I would like to see the worst of the democrat party posted here, for reference.

"Is this where it will finally happen for me?" he wondered, for what seemed like the thousandth time that morning. "Is this where I'll finally meet the man who can accept me for who and what I truly am...?"

His Mom must be SO Proud!!!!!!!

If this lost soul wants to be a woman, he better lose that beard! yuk!

You should make a collage of all those pictures and make it into a poster that says "Kerrys America"

What`s with the gymnastics? Are they now doing tributes to the Olympics while demonsrating their support for communism, tyranny, genocide, anarchy and child mass murder? "End Capitalism! Now people, watch Star Child do a triple back flip somersault!"

I will until this is over, the convention, until I do this.

Anybody who has the ability, have at it.

My favorite so far: the subcomittee's decision to advocate a "flag protection" constitutional amendment. We're supposed to be the party of less government, not more. The federal government should let citizens defend their own private property but stay out of the business of restricting personal expression (assuming people burn their own flags).

How can I get a bunch of pictures of these "kooks" together so I can print them and put them in the few democrats in boxes at work.

I keep telling them that their party has left them and they don't know it or won't admit it. They just won't give up.

The other day one said, "all Bush does is lie", I looked at him and ask him to tell me one lie, just one lie he told you and the guy couldn't even give me one thing, I told him all he is doing is parroting the media and he walked away.

"Will to power" was an idea of Nietzsche. Darwinian natural selection does not have an element of will; in his theory, the fittest genetic elements survive simply by being better adaptations to the environment.

Although I'm somewhat nearby, I'll be staying away from NYC for awhile. I did just get back from a week in San Francisco. My daughters and I went west to spread my wife's ashes in, where else? The Muir Woods (see screen name). Anyway the week we spent in SF was like a week at a zoo. I couldn't believe then number of people openly hostile to the president. One clown wore a large, very long T-shirt (and apparently nothing else) with a large picture of W with the words "International Terrorist" written across it. Many of the little shops had posters and other signage deriding W. The street people have figured it out and many sport Kerry buttons. I was trying to make a phone call near Union Square and this doufus with a sign board for the DNC and a petition was collecting signatures. He was yelling at people walking by and, somehow, I made eye contact. He asks me if I will help him (HIM!) defeat George Bush. I looked him right in the eye and I said, "I've been hoping for his re-election for 4 years and am actively working for it now"

I never knew it was so easy to shut up a moron. He just looked at me and moved on. Amazing. SF has to be about as bad an example of Blue-State mentality as exists. Other places might be as bad but SF is truly horrible. Too bad, nice town once.
