GREAT review for those of us without HBO or the stomach to watch Maher. I would have PAID for the month of HBO to see Maher's face as you describe him near the end of the segment. AH HA HA HA HA! BRAVO, O'Neill!

Maher said "you got the right" or some such and the audience roared with laughter.

Keep it up, Lefties, keep it up. This argument that Bush was a coward for choosing the Guard will get you NOWHERE. Your guy tried to get a deferment to study in Paris! Then he too joined the GUARD, but instead of flying dangerous fighters, he chose the boats that were never supposed to go incountry. How was he supposed to know that they would be reassigned to the rivers of Nam? He never finished his service, either! He whipped out of Vietnam with three purple band-aids on his butt. Just keep it up that Bush's service shows cowardice. You can't win that one.

Matthews or Maher?

Oh, sorry -- Maher. He ended the show with a several minute long speach literally inciting riots. It was, admittedly, funny. But . . .

Where can we get a transcript of that show?

Thank you for posting such an outstanding recap of O'Neill's appearance on Maher's program.

No, I didn't see the rest of it. I think it's good that Matthews is showing his true colors. We can judge him accordingly in the future.

Excellent commentary on another ass-whuppin' for that pasty-faced Maher character.

O'Neill's credibility power-trumps the sad TV wannabee who has been kicked from pillar to post as his lame shows go from failure to failure.

Maher needs to put O'Neill's latest conquest in his leftist pipe for a good smoke.

Today, at our local Costco, there was a small, 20-book stack of "Unfit for Command." It was not on the featured end position, but people were buying it fast. I also polaced some copies over the few remaining Klintoon books still there. I wonder why they had so few to sell. Is it the old, "I can't get a better supply from Regnery" excuse?

Thank you for the wonderful summary of the Maher show.

People especially need to be reminded of this aspect of Vietnam's history...

O'Neill said that 1.5 million Vietnamese died fleeing the oppressive regime. Maher was visibily uncomfortable with that.

Bad move. O'Neill shouldn't give these type outlets credibility.

Agreed.

Bill Maher is a dirtbag on the order of Michael Moore. He was thrown off the air after his outrageous comments following 9-11!

Actually, I'd appreciate the opportunity to personally kick his ass. Of course he does have the freedom of speech and so I must restrain myself but I simply do not like him.

Oh, and in my opinion he is not very funny.

One other thing should also be remembered. Two million died in the killing fields of Cambodia under the regime of Communist leader Pol Pot, a result than can be traced to our abandonment of South Vietnam. Dominoes did fall: Laos and Cambodia. The 3.5 million or more who died in Southeast Asia owe their deaths, in part, to those who gave aide and comfort to the Viet Cong -- and that includes John Kerry.

You are right, of course.

O'Neill said that 1.5 million Vietnamese died fleeing the oppressive regime.

As O'Neill predicted in 1971, and Kerry said "not likely to happen."

Thank you for your summary report. Good to see Maher uncomfortable with "his" reality. Maybe he'll pull a Dennis Miller one of these days.

God bless O'Neill and the Swift Boat veterans, and all of our veterans and military personnel, for that matter. But Hoffman, O'Neill, and the Swiftees sure are providing a valuable and effective, extraordinary service.

Somebody out here in Seattle who apparently doesn't care for Tom Leykis beat him up outside a bar a couple of nights ago.

Gay bar?

However, Bill Maher is to me the ugliest creep on the planet. Possibly part of it IS his fault, though, with his self-important, sarcastic expression. UGH.

Thank you for saying it. It didn't really strike me at first, but after the first few insults he spewed I started to notice his nose. Was it really that long when the show started? Anyway, he shouldn't turn too quickly in a crowd. He'll put someone's eye out.
