I got this
SWIFT BOAT VETERANS FOR TRUTH EXPOSE KERRY'S FRAUD sticker on my truck the other day. The next day on the way to work and back I got lots of honks and 'thumbs up'!
The sticker serves 2 purposes:
1 - Shows visible support for "Swift Boat Veterans For Truth" to passing motorists
2 - Gets the swiftvets.com website visible to the public, so they can and find out more about 'Hanoi John' Kerry
Made by fellow FReeper disabled vet who has a bone to pick with Kerry, like we all do!
Large (24" Wide 12" Tall) like mine
Small (12" Wide 6" Tall)
Profits go to SwiftVets.com
FReep mail for details.

Look good?
Kerry looks like more of a anti-war radical than Billy "Blyth" Clinton. I say, keep showing that tape; this is not a plausible war President.

ook at the nekkid fat idiots on cspan Uh, no. Will give that a miss.
Be of good cheer. I see way too much anger here on the thread.
Kerry has to own this crap. Again, I think the body blow he self inflicts, is the pessimism of the 70's that the war against the Commies was unwinnable.

As I have said several times on FR these last few months, reading these threads and research, I have been forced to face the awful fact that I may have let John Kerry and his band of thugs influence my opinion of the war. Well they certainly influenced all those I encountered in public school and college. We were taught the war was bad and essentially that it was all Nixon's fault. If you had a very enlightened teacher he may have given you a bit of background but the conclusion was always the same. Add some Hollywood movies and you have the recipe for poisoning the minds of all of us educated in the post-Viet Nam era.

"I didn't know that the navy was involved in taking hills with Swift Boats." Listen to John Kerry and you will learn some amazing new things every day.

My memory's a little fuzzy, but I believe this is how the information was obtained: After the speech the White House had Kerry investigated (on this see
Nixon Thought John Kerry Was a "Phony"), and if I recall right that was one of the things they learned. Subsequently Kerry was confronted with the charge--I believe by John O'Neill during a debate, though I'm not sure. Walinsky denied the charge, but my recollection from what I read was that I found his defense unpersuasive. This is discussed in Brinkley's bio. Here's an FR thread which quotes the same information from
Unfit for Command:
Are Kerry's records really open?
Unfit for Command [Excerpt] Kerry's testimony to the Fulbright Committee was a carefully orchestrated piece of political theater. Fulbright wanted a presentable, young Kennedy-esque face to put on the antiwar effort, and Kerry wanted a national forum from which to launch his climb to political celebrity. Ted Kennedy helped arrange Kerry's testimony with Senator Fulbright at a private fundraising event held at the home of Democratic senator Philip A. Hart of Michigan.
Once Kerry learned that he would have the chance to give testimony before the committee, he recruited the assistance of Adam Walinsky, a speechwriter noted for his work with Robert Kennedy. Walinsky drafted the speech and coached Kerry on its delivery. The only image Kerry wanted us to see was a myth: a young man with a burning passion for the truth, the leader forced to sleep on the ground, the man answering his country's call to be where he was urgently needed, before a committee of the United States Senate where the senators and America were urgently waiting for his firsthand criticism of the war. He proceeded to level his charges: [End Excerpt]

I liked the part in the beginning where Kerry apologizes for not being prepared because he learned that he would be allowed to testify late the night before. I bet John and Jane had been rehearsing this for well over four months.

C-SPAM originally was very educational. I believe the series on the Presidents was one of the best things that they have ever done, largely due to the efforts of Brian Lamb.
However, over time they have eroded to become just another cog in the wheel of the election industry!
