He doesnt want a dishonorable SOB that smeared him and other military men to become CinC ... Kerry is 'unfit for command'.

Take him at his word. It's the only story that makes sense.

He doesnt seem to be a very political type beyond this one issue.

Wait up here.

I just read tonight, in fact a short time ago, something which I think was from paperlessarchives.

Hope I can find it -- it's something about the VVAW cooking up an idea to have a mutiny among soldiers in VN. They were going to get 2000 of them to refuse orders.

I wonder if he was once again stretching the true story, so that this plot became the reality here in this Cavett interview.

Here, it's on this link:

link

"The Wisconsin delegation proposed a plan to contact 2,000 active-duty GI's in South Vietnam and in effect ask them for a mutinous action by refusing to take up arms when ordered to do so. This proposal was favorably accepted by the committee."

Isn't Kerry supposed to speak to the VFW this weekend? If so, the timing of this is just outstanding. I'm sure the dems would say suspicious.

"3/13/69 ---PH#3 & Bronze Star
3/17/69--departs for States."

That is some serious fast processing of orders.

Hillary wont touch this "campaign" now. Her own likeability quotient is quite low, in the 20's or so. And it is too late for her to restructure the debate.

This "campaign" is nearly over. Much like the middle ages where knights would skirmish. When some blood was drawn they would withdraw and sue for peace, giving up riches and property. Now they give up elected positions....
And there was no major battle!
Kerry, who wants to wage a smarter more sensitive campaign against terror did not anticipate his adversaries being his "band of brothers"!
How stupid can a candidate be!

One of my favorite stories about the Bismarck is that her AA guns were too "advanced" to track aircraft that traveled @ speeds < 90 mph. What self-respecting German engineer could have possibly *imagined* that the Mighty Bismarck would have faced WWI aircraft!?

True. Had those planes been shot down or at least enough of them to drive off the remainder, the Bismarks steering issue wouldn't have been a problem.

Two officers in a 14 foot boat doesn't make sense to me unless maybe it was an orientation trip for a new guy.

Kerry arrived there 17 Nov 1968 as documented in his fitness reports. Thus on 2 Dec he had been there just over 2 weeks. It is highly unlikely that Kerry would be allowed to be left unsupervised in a boat for which he was not trained (His orders were for a different craft, he volunteered because he was tired of waiting for his own PCF), especially when night combat was a possibility on his very first mission in the area. His life was not the only one at risk if anything went awry.

How stupid can a candidate be!

All of his life he's been able to manipulate people and circumstances to get what he want.....O'Neill as a lawyer deals with his type all the time....and simply out maneuvered him with the truth.

We joked about a breakdown, but I'm really wondering if this sudden jolt of reality won't cause a major problem in his psyche! Particularly if the African Queen leaves him....She really doesn't seem like the "stand by your man type"

I heard a woman caller to the Rush show today who was outraged after seeing a picture of the cover of sKerry's book "New Soldier" she thought the hippie looking types raising an upside down American Flag were mocking the great picture from WWII of the flag raising at Iwo Jima

That's exactly what they were doing!

from:http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/1200373/posts?q=1&&page=41

Ion Mihai Pacepa was acting chief of Romania's espionage service and national-security adviser to the country's president and said the Romanian secret police (DIE) distributed anti American propaganda just as did the KGB (personally directed by Yuri Andropov) that, COMING OUT OF KERRY's MOUTH ON CAPITOL HILL IN APRIL 1971, SOUNDED EXACTLY LIKE THE PROPAGANDA THEY HASHED OUT AS TALKING POINTS AGAINST THE WAR THROUGHOUT EUROPE IN THEIR PROPAGANDA AND ESPIONAGE ACTIVITY. Pacepa has said that he thinks Americans should investigate if Kerry was at the time controlled by the KGB, as his VVAW issued statements that were cut from the same Soviet propaganda machine cloth.

I sure hope one of the guys or gals in the Washington, D.C. area would go down to the Wall and let our brothers know the status of the battle to lift the veil that has hung over them all these years...

They might like to hear that one of the key traitors has finally had his ass thrown down onto the punji sticks.....

Oh, and I guess out of fairness - we have to admit that it is the Navy "taking care of business".... Try to say this quietly - while no one else is near... Marines are funny about stuff like that....
