If there were a rodent Olympics, the "marathon mice" in Ronald Evans's lab would be disqualified for gene doping. Evans and a team of researchers have genetically engineered mice that can run twice as far as their unaltered brethren. The mice also stay in peak condition, even without exercise or a good diet.
"These mice are in inherently good shape," said Evans, a hormone expert at the Salk Institute for Biological Studies in La Jolla, California. "They look like Lance Armstrong without ever getting on a bike."

I see them with exercise wheels all the time, but usually they sit in the corner, unused, only to end up a mouse rumamge sales years later.

Whether or not is is great news for ALL mice depends upon the moral framework that regulates the behavior of mice .

Genoism: How far away can it be?
From the Alan Moore series "Miracleman":
Where does a black superhuman sit on a bus in Johannesburg? - Anywhere he wants to.
Another favorite line:
Old Nazi "Overman, you have come!"
MiracleMan "Yes, you can go now....*SPLAT*"

President Bush seems to understand this, as evidenced by his position against human cloning.
Also, in a situation where Hitler would have used Blitzkrieg tactics, Bush has exhibited moral restraint.
Those are a couple of the reasons why I am voting for him.

Found a dead shrew [like a very small mouse] in my driveway this morning. Probably it was exercising and had a massive heart attack. Well, it is a tiny mammal, so it wouldn't have a massive anything. A relatively major cardiac incident.

Ah see, that's where we've got something to learn from Lance Armstrong.
Lance is successful, in part, because the majority of his training is at a low heart rate.
So much for the "No Pain No gain" mantra...
You don't have to kill yourself to become fit.

Direct manipulation of genetics instead of traditional selective breeding seems risky. How far can you tweak a previously successful organism before something unforeseen happens? Of course tweaking a mouse seems harmless, but wait until overconfidence leads them to tweaking men.

Another good reason to vote for GW.
Have you ever taken one of those voy-comp tests yourself, Mr. Deckard?
