This is about a lot more than the Swift Vets. Kerry has been losing ground since his convention. Voters don't like him, and they're beginning to conclude that maybe President Bush hasn't been doing such a bad job on Iraq and the economy.

So:

- Kerry/Bush split independents evenly (however LAT defines evenly)
- Kerry gets only 3% of Republican votes
- Bush gets 15% of Democrat votes

And the final result is only 49%-46% for Bush?

I wonder how they weighted Democrats and Republicans in this poll..

The media is not reporting his next sentence in the conversation:

O'Neill: "I was on the Cambodian border."

He clarified this on Hannity the other night!

O'Neill amended his words to Nixon in the very next breath, to say Cambodian border area but inside Vietnam. The media & Dems are trying to cover that up.

He doesn't appear to have a consistent story. First he said that he was there, then he said that he was only a hundred yards from the border. Then he said he was no farther than 50 miles from the border. He sounds about as inconsistent as Kerry himself.

King Arthur : You are indeed brave, sir knight, but the fight is mine.
Black Knight : Oh, had enough eh?
King Arthur : Look, you stupid bastard. You've got no arms left.
Black Knight : Yes I have.
King Arthur : Look.
Black Knight : Just a flesh wound.

The newspaper's analysis indicates Kerry "has been nicked by attacks on his service in Vietnam."
"Nicked"??!! LOL!

Oh Oh.....another 'self-inflicted' wound....and the biased MSM is trying to award Kerry another PH.

Kerry brought up Vietnam.....he said he was reporting for duty....the SVs say he is UNFIT.....they should know better than anyone else!

How much was Kerry up in this poll last time? I thought they had him up by 7 point or so. If that is the case, then this is a massive 10 point swing! Don't worry about the state polls and the current EV count. First most of these public state polls are not even as accurate as the national slime polls. Secondly, as we have seen all year, the state polls "lag" the nationals by about 3 weeks. Expect Bush to pull a significant lead of 5-7 points across most of the polls by mid-sept. It may tighten back again due to the debates. But could go even more Bush if Kerry does pretty bad, which I expect he will do. Bush needs to have some snappy and memorable lines to throw at Kerry. Something like "Mr Kerry, if you can't handle a group of former shipmates, how can you handle OBL?". Something like the famous Reagan or Bensen lines.

All I know is Kerry is one big, whiny baby P----! Now he wants Ashcroft to look into it!?!?! Barbra Streisand! He is doing nothing but slinging mud all around, sticking it to everyone. Typical Democrat loser response. THEY ARE DOING THIS TOO! Yet Kerry, like Mike Dukaka back in '88 when Willie Horton came to light, is crying- literally- foul! What a wimp!

People will share books.....and gooks should be arriving this week in 5-7 days.

If the Swifties drop another bomb in October like what is rumored, it will blow up again.

The books will do enough to keep it going, though it will drop for awhile during the GOP convention unless more dirt keeps being dredged up on these guys, in which case the GOP convention may not get as much coverage as it normally would. I hope the convention gets its coverage.

I think this whole 527 collusion thing is too inside-baseball for the average voter. I mean, Joe Sizpack knows that democrat groups support democrats and republican groups support republicans! Big deal! To the average man on the street, the fact that someone contributed to an outside campaign but also is friends with someone in the Bush campaign is totally meaningless. And the bottom line is, the democrats are wasting all this ammunition about 527 connections and most people either don't get it or don't care.

Yeah - "'Tis only a flesh wound"....

Well let's give the man another purple heart, this seems even more serious than the wounds he received in Vietnam!

As to the effectiveness or bump from convention-coverage--I think SWIFTIES DO IT BETTER.
