In an article today on fox & friends written by John McCaslin , John McCaslin said that Kerry submitted a report saying he had a dog who was blown off the boat from a bomb, but no veterans remember seeing a dog, this could lead to uncover more lies by John Kerry.

From a John Kerry speech commemorating Martin Luther King Day, Jan. 20, 2003:

I remember well April 1968--I was serving in Vietnam--a place of violence--when the news reports brought home to me and my crewmates the violence back home--and the tragic news that one of the bullets flying that terrible spring took the life of that unabashedly maladjusted citizen.

In fact, Kerry did not go to Vietnam until November 1968.

This was briefly referenced earlier:

Supposedly, Kerry was responding to a Humane Society questionnaire, and gave an answer that his crew kept a pet dog named VC on board HIS BOAT in Vietnam (you did know he actually served in Vietnam, didn't you?) .

During a mission, a mine exploded, and the dog was catapulted ACROSS the water to another boat and rode home!

Is Kerry OBSESSED with loading Vietnam into EVERY QUESTION he is asked?

We had Snuffy in our platoon. The Vietnamese Rangers tried to have him for Vietnamese Thanksgiving dinner. I don't know why as he was pretty scrawny unitl we fed him up.

Snuffy never did like Vietnamese after that. He did like GI's.

Unlike Miguel, I have photos of Snuffy.

I should write a childrens book about Snuffy's Asian Adventure. I might have a hard time bridging aroung the dietary aspect.

A friend who was in the 'brown water Navy' told me three type of people came home from Vietnam before their one year of service was completed: The dead, the severely wounded, and those the Navy could not trust.

That comment "might" have been a modification of a different story he told the San Diego paper in March this year:

Kerry said he was on board the USS Gridley "on February 25" off of Midway when he "read about a friend who had gotten killed in Vietnam" ....

Kerry was on the Gridley during this period: although he was a long way offshore for all but one day when he rode into port on a supply/recreation mission to Da Nang harbor.

Of course, Kerry told lies about that trip as well in his book Tour Of Duty.

The picture is on one of the other dog threads. Small dog, not much bigger than a jackalope. Maybe not that big.

For what it's worth..... not that it matters that much

February 1968: Kerry makes first trip to Southeast Asia aboard Gridley, supporting aircraft carriers in the Gulf of Tonkin off North Vietnam.

June 1968: Kerry returns to California for training on 50-foot swift boats used for Vietnam coastal patrol, later for inland waterways. He returns to Vietnam in November after being promoted to lieutenant.

December 1968: Kerry takes command of swift boat unit PCF-44, and experiences first intense combat. On the night of Dec. 2, Kerry and two others set out on boat looking for Viet Cong and engage in a firefight. Kerry is slightly wounded on left arm, qualifies for first Purple Heart.

April, November, those months were interchangable back then. You could say November and mean April and vice-versa. The same with medals and ribbons, ya know.

I remember seeing a picture of him with the dog, but not sure about the dog being blown off of the boat story.

I haven't seen the pic, but the story has been around for a few months. And it has been throughly debunked, including by some explosive experts (some of the pieces written on this were really funny, speculating where sKerry and the so-called "dog" were, how much explosive charge would have been needed, etc. - the result was like one of those cartoon physics emails).

Story is getting new legs with all the other sKerry lies being exposed. sKerry camp must have anticipated this because last week one of the sKerry Swiftie supporters mentioned the dog - not his miraculous explosive journey, but the "fact" that sKerry always carried a "puppy" in his flak vest. Strange, that's exactly the way Lance in "Apocalypse Now" carried the boat's puppy. Why do I get the feeling much of sKerry's excellent Vietnam adventure was plagiarized from "Apocalypse Now"?
