[vanity?] New term--MEDIA WING of the DEMOCRATIC PARTY
08/24/04 | Auzerais [vanity?]

I contend that there is no longer anything called the Mainstream Media and such terms should be discouraged.

Just as Howard Dean proclaimed himself to be the "Democratic Wing of the Democratic Party", I suggest that all Freepers strat using a new term to refer to the 78% of journalists who admit to rooting for Kerry and their equally biased "news" outlets such as the NYTIMES, LATIMES, USATODAY, CNN, ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, MSNBC etc.

Instead of "mainstream media" let us all start using the term;
the

MEDIA WING of the DEMOCRATIC PARTY !

WHAT ELSE COULD BE MORE APPROPRIATE?
Today I emailed Rodger Hedgecock (now subbing for Rush) and he actually used the term at the top of the 2nd hour of Rush's show! I have also written to and suggested it be used by all those at MRC.org, NEWSMAX, CNSNews etc whenever their members appear on CNN, FOX, MSNBC talkshows or when they write online columns or appear on radio talkshows.

Let's use our numbers at Freeper to start a movement to introduce this new term into the American political lexicon so that it becomes indisputable and undeniable.

I like it. LOL!

I have noticed some people (Tony Blankley, Thomas Sowell) using the term "mainline" instead of mainstream. That's good too. But I like your idea.

Media wing of the Democratic Party, in addition to being an accurate statement, definitely has a nice ring to it.

You can find lots of examples with the Keyword "Media Shills for Kerry."

I like the nomenclature and think it is an apt term to describe the dim shills in the media, which is about 90% of all media outlets.

Frankly, I believe they have taken off the gloves and are no longer particularly concerned about any pretense of objectivity.

The media, as a group, have made a value judgment that the defeat of Bush is far, far more important than maintaining any pretense of objectivity in "news" reporting.

auzerais ,

You are correct, of course.

But as I pointed out in another post, I think Propaganda Organ is a better fit.

Gives it that Stalinesque flavor the DemoncRATs are so fond of.

I can't remember when the mainstream press was anything but liberal. We have a few writers out there and Fox news. I thank God every day for talk radio which keeps me going along with the computer and sites like Free Republic. I always refer to the media as ELITIST LIBS, or LIBERAL HACKS LIKE ABC,CBS,NBC and CNN!! They are a big part of the DNC and aren't fooling anyone. It amazes me when the likes of Dan Blather and Peter Jennings remark that the networks are middle of the road....that road they are on always has and probably always will run to the left....way left.

In honor of Sec. Rumsfeld, I like to use the terms "old media" and "new media" to describe the current state of journalism.

Old media = mainstream media that dictates what stories are reported and how they are reported.

New Media = Internet, blogs, talk radio, conservative newspapers (Washington Times, NY Post)& Fox News

Old media is irrelevant now. The Swift Boat Vets story just sears this in my mind. A few years ago this would have been buried. The old media tried to ignore it. In May, the original news conference by the Swifties was boycotted by all the major news organizations. The Swift Boat Vets got their story out anyway. Their book is #1 and their contributions were over $1.7 million last week (According to O'Neill this averages out to $59 per donation).

All this because of the NEW MEDIA.

"MEDIA WING of the DEMOCRATIC PARTY !

Good concept but it needs to be shorter to be used.
