Purpose: The Free Republic forum is intended for Conservative users who wish to have a serious discussion about political events, conservative principles and the elimination of government corruption and abuse. This is a news and information site not a chat room. Please stay on topic. Free Republic is a supporter of free speech on the Internet but we believe that along with the privilege of free speech comes the responsibility to respect the rights of others.
LOL....
You have learned fast, Grasshopper.

It's always so entertaining on these zot threads.
Can you pass me something to wipe the coffee off my monitor?
To neutrino >>What I perceive you're saying is that being emotionally committed to a country is the key definition of being a citizen of that country.<<
Unless the Pledge of Allegiance brings a tear to your eye as you hear it or say it, you do not understand just what is being said.
From the Red Skelton Hour, January 14, 1969
I had this one teacher, he was the principal of the Harrison School, in Vincennes, Indiana. To me, he was the greatest teacher, a real sage of my time. He had such wisdom. We were all reciting the Pledge of Allegiance one day, and he walked over. This little old teacher - Mr. Lasswell was his name. He said:
"I've been listening to you boys and girls recite the Pledge of Allegiance all semester and it seems as though it is becoming monotonous to you. If I may, may I recite it and try to explain to you the meaning of each word?"
I - me, an individual, a committee of one.
Pledge - dedicate all my worldly goods to give without self-pity.
Allegiance - my love and my devotion.
To the Flag - our standard, Old Glory, a symbol of freedom. Wherever she waves, there is respect because your loyalty has given her a dignity that shouts freedom is everybody's job.
Of the United - that means that we have all come together.
States - individual communities that have united into 48 great states. 48 individual communities with pride and dignity and purpose, all divided with imaginary boundaries, yet united to a common cause, and that's love of country.
Of America.
And to the Republic - a republic - a state in which sovereign power is invested in representatives chosen by the people to govern. And government is the people and it's from the people to the leaders, not from the leaders to the people.
For Which it Stands!
One Nation - meaning, so blessed by God.
Indivisible - incapable of being divided.
With Liberty - which is freedom and the right of power to live one's life without threats or fear or any sort of retaliation.
And Justice - the principle and quality of dealing fairly with others.
For All. - which means, boys and girls, it's as much your country as it is mine.
And now, boys and girls, let me hear you recite the Pledge of Allegiance.
"I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it stands, one nation, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."
Since I was a small boy, two states have been added to our country, and two words have been added to the Pledge of Allegiance - "under God." Wouldn't it be a pity if someone said, "That is a prayer," and that would be eliminated from our schools too?
- Red Skelton
For Which it Stands!
One Nation - meaning, so blessed by God.
We are blessed by God and our government is denying us the right to say this in public.
Indivisible - incapable of being divided.
We have been divided by our government using ethnic diversity.
With Liberty - which is freedom and the right of power to live one's life without threats or fear or any sort of retaliation.
"threats or fear or any sort of retaliation" are the methods which our governemnt has chosen to control the American citizen.
And Justice - the principle and quality of dealing fairly with others.
Our Legal System is corrupt, principles and fairness are not considered standards to be maintained during trials. The US Constitution is not permitted a seat in our courtrooms. The Bill of Rights has become terminaly infected. The Declaration of Independence has been shattered by the United Nations and our leaders wish for a One World Government.
For All. - which means, boys and girls, it's as much your country as it is mine.
If we were considered equal, not separated into classes by skin color and wealth, then "For All" would be true, but today it's not.
We send our soldiers to fight for democracy in foreign countries while we allow our Republic to become a Republik. We are being invaded by foreign nationals who are taking classroom seats of our children and the career positions from American citizens with the silent permission of our leaders.
Other Americans pray that we will re-elect these leaders so they can continue to divide America and permit the invasion to continue.
I am only 56, maybe when I am much, much older I will understand why we are permitting this to happen.
Listen to Red explain the Pledge of Allegiance
By the way, neutrino never gave me a reply.
Too many Kooks ruin the whole damn broth
No, I don't have that need. I just present what I have to say, and if attacked, well it isn't a pretty site.
I was talking about the FReeper you flamed.
Ambigious rhetoric, will not get you anywhere, but on the outside looking in.
OPs4 God BLess America!
This ain't no party.
This ain't no disco.
This ain't no foolin' around.
Welcome to the world of political discussion forums on the World Wide Web.
If you don't feel comfortable with the rules here on FreeRepublic, perhaps you might want to take your time and money and establish your very own website for political disucssion.
Then you would be able to set and enforce the rules of your very own website.
Until that time, you should count yourself fortunate that you were able to re-register under a different name here and post your whiney little diatribe.
(I should hasten to add, though, that your post really does make you appear to be some whiney little adolescent.)
If you were to try the same thing over at DU, your post under a re-registered name would be deleted.
But, then, you must already know that.
I see. sorry. No the guy wrote someting that isn't true about J. Edger Hoover that indicated he was a lib. I mentioned that it wasn't a true account and he came at me.
So I made some comments about his screen name, a famous drunk leftist/communist writer that were true.
So he is the type that wants to be able to attack others but wants to not be attacked.
I haven't seen him here much since.
It's over there. In a box.
Rational adults never assume that they can intrude into any private place and instantly be heard in a serious way.
You might want to just read a while before gracing us with our wisdom.
You might learn something.
Most people who complain (trolls) are ignorant, opinionated, whiny girlie-men who insist that others hear what she has to say. This, unfortunately is a status that must be earned. If that doesn not please you, try DU.
