TURN THE PAGEOn that long and lonesome highway, even East of Omaha,
You can listen to the people, asking "Please come do some more",
And you wonder if it's in you,
and you wonder if you've got it anymore...
But your friends just keep-on wanderin' in, the way we always do,
And yer doin' all those hours, and there's nothin' left for you,
and you might just feel like leaving,
But you know you got this job to do!
So there you are, starting a FReep again.
There you go, back in the fray...
Here we come, backin' you up again,
Here we come, we don't turn the page...
Here we go - doin' the fight again,
Here we come, we don't back away...

Jim Robinson and Free Republic have done more to advance civilization in 8 years than any democRAT ever did in a lifetime.
We're going to the 2004 elections now, and this song just stuck in my head.
If anybody can write more verses, please contribute. .............FRegards

Thank you for the ping, Tonk! Great lyrics, gonzo - Kudos!!!
But the title for me would be "Owed to Jim Robinson" and the tab would be too much to pay.
To: gonzo
One of my favorite tunes...it has great personal meaning, for very personal reasons.

I would like to salute Jim Robinson as well, for without him and Free Republic, I wouldn't have become a successful well-known columnist. Wait a second, I'm not a well-known columnist and it's all Jimrob's fault. j/k. :)
Thanks for Free Republic. While I take breaks from it, every now again. It is the most awesome source for news and information on the Internet, as well as the greatest conservative discussion site.
Wait to go, JIM!

I'm not good at writing verses, Gonzo.
But I'd like to add this:
Here's to you.....Jim Robinson.....Hip Hip Hurrah !!!
You had a vision and created a place where Patriots could gather; reason together; learn the truth and then share it with America!

There are much better lyricists than yours truly, but I suppose I could direct this thread to people more musically inclined than I.
Good work Gonzo!
I fully echo those sentiments.
