Timers...or coordinated suicide bombers.

No 7700. You and I and a dozen or so other people on FR know what that means ... :)Don't be so sure of that. I'm not a pilot but even I know that's the transponder code for hijack.

I was thinking bad gas too, however the planes would be sputtering and the pilots would notify the tower of these problems. No indication of that yet,but it is early.

Two Russian airliners have crashed almost simultaneously. Witnesses (unconfirmed by Russian govt) say saw explosions before the crashes.

All I'm saying is people here are so knee-jerk that they want to blame every air crash on terrorism, shoe bombers, terrorist carried man portable SAMS, or a rogue U.S. Navy ship.

Don't be so sure of that. I'm not a pilot but even I know that's the transponder code for hijack. Actually, 7700 is the transponder code for any in flight emergency.

This could be a signal...... A signal? H#ll, this IS a terror attack!! 100 people probably died!
My heart goes out to their families and to the Russian people. We know what they must be feeling at this moment (those who are awake and heard this news). Prayers being sent.

One More Russian Passenger Plane Missing -Ifax
MOSCOW (Reuters) - Air controllers on Tuesday lost contact with the second airplane with 44 passengers on board, Interfax news agency reported.
It quoted Emergencies ministry as saying contacts with Tu-154 flying from Moscow to the Black Sea resort of Sochi were lost at 3 p.m. EDT when it was expected to be 90 miles from the southern city of Rostov-on-Don.
Earlier Russian news agencies said that around the same time one more Russian passenger plane with more than 40 people on board went missing near the town of Tula south of Moscow.

"Witnesses always see an explosion before every plane crash."
Wow
Glad you cleared that up. Now we know with TWA 800 there were no eyewitnesses that saw anything.
