Vanity: Alan Keyes for Senate
Aug 23, 2004 | Jim Robinson

Edited on 08/23/2004 11:47:17 PM PDT by Jim Robinson. [history]

I'll make this short and sweet (kinda like this is your brain, this is your brain on crack - any questions?).

a) Alan Keyes is an America loving, Constitution loving, Liberty loving, pro-life ultra conservative. We'd be ^damned lucky to have him in the Senate if we could get him there.

b) Barack Obama is an America hating, pro-abortion socialist communist. It'll be a dark day for America if he's elected.

Any questions?

I remember that Dr. Keyes was there during Impeachment - providing encouragement and support through his speeches and radio programmes. He gave a stirring speech at the March for Justice. He was there "upon St. Crispin's Day". We, the members of this site, in turn, should offer our wholehearted support to the great man.

Regards, Ivan

He's the conscience of the country

This role is more important than any short-term victory.

"The opportunist politician is like a man who should abandon billiards because he was beaten at billiards, and abandon golf because he was beaten at golf. There is nothing which is so weak for working purposes as this enormous importance attached to immediate victory. There is nothing that fails like success."

G.K. Chesterton
Heretics

We only need to look as far as the extremist homosexual and environmental movements. No extremist homosexual or environmentalist has ever won an election, but most of their legislative agenda has been implemented. Ideas define the culture. Politicians follow the culture.

Dr. Keyes' schedule should be pretty free in about 10 weeks. What elective offices do you have opening up in California?

That's a knee-slapper.

Any positions opening up in the baby-killer's campaign office?

Beat's me. But in the odd event that Kerry wins then there'll be a senate slot for Keyes to run in up in your neck of the woods.

Yes, I have a question. Hasn't the debate around here largely been about the method in which Keyes was brought in to run in this race? Carpetbagger I believe is the word used.

It's the disappointment in the failure of the GOP to find one of their own in their own state.

"Barack Obama is an America hating, pro-abortion socialist communist."

I posted the exact same sentence (almost IIRC) a couple weeks ago on a thread in defense of Keyes. Jim Rob thanks for 'coming out' for Alan.

btw, for those here NOT from IL, Obama IS a communist - period. You can dress him up, send him to school and have him talk nice, but he's still a commie!

Oh, and he's no 'rising star' either. That's leftist media tripe. Obama's a 3rd rate back bench state Rep from a 6th rate Chicago south side district. And if the IL senate seat didn't look like "a given" prior to the RAT convention, you'd have NEVER heard of him.

Can you imagine someone in the Senate actually arguing from a Constitutional standpoint?

Yes, if those morons in the Senate could actually understand his large vocabulary and eloquent points.

I have wasted untold hours trying to make this same point and you do it so simply. (smacks forehead)

Thank you. It's really no more complicated than that.

Because of the political activity before the primary here in NH I have had several opportunities to attend Alan Keyes rallies and speeches.

If one goes in with a respect and love for America and our people, there will be times during the speech when nearly every person in ones visage will be wiping tears of emotion because of how Mr. Keyes moves people. For those who hate America, the answer to the test is easy, they turn their backs and proceed out of the building, muttering.

I have a friend who loves Barney Frank because he says he is so "smart" that whatever he does is good for the nation and state of MA. I mentioned that Keyes is smarter and is better for the Nation. He saw it differently. To liberals, zealotry is to always be avoided unless one is an abortionist or a homosexual. How do we change their minds and souls? The answer is clear, through Jesus. That is the only answer I can come up with.

"We'd be ^damned lucky to have him in the Senate if we could get him there."

True, but it's going to take more than a 'Jiminny Cricket' moment for that to happen. Illinois is a strange place for the 2-time loser for Senate in Maryland to try this time. The Illionois GOP made tis race a circus long before Dr. Keyes threw his hat in the ring. If the last polls are anywhere near accurate, it will take a 'do you beleuve in miracles' effort for him to get elected.
Talking is one thing - winning is another.

The fight in Illinois: Alan Keyes vs. Barack Obama

Phyllis Schlafly

Alan Keyes has upset the liberal game plan to crown law school lecturer Barack Obama as the new leader of blacks in America. Ted Kennedy and Hillary Clinton like Obama because he imitates their votes, but Americans like Keyes because he is straightforward about issues we care about.
