Kerry apologist Brinkley is now on Hardball, with Buchanan.
one man's opinion

Key question..Kerry has given his wartime journal to Brinkley, said that's why he can't releasde it to the press. Will he be asked to make them public?..or will they all go in the tank

Don't anybody forget that the people coming out to defend Kerry *ARE* the very people who tried to tear this country apart in the 60's.

That's what I don't understand.

Why on earth would the Dims choose one of the most controversial, opportunistic figures from one of the most divisive periods in modern American history?

This had to happen. No way it wasn't going to happen.

John Kerry single-handedly turned the sacrifice of 50,000 American lives into a cynical joke.

There is no way that the folks that have had to live with the consequences of his betrayal were going to keep their mouths shut.

The only thing that makes sense is... God forbid... Hillary 2008.

"Are we boycotting Olbermann?"

We would have to watch him before we could boycott him. Not worth the time. Nobody watches Olbermann... boycott or not.

Do you believe that Michelle Malkin said even the word "shot" while oon Hardball? She did not. Chris Matthews said "Shot himself on purpose" and Malking was not given a chance to express the meaning of "self-inflicted." Shaving nicks and paper cuts are self-inflicted.

You said that Malkin made the claim. She did not. Read the transcript.

No, I said that she appeared to believe that Kerry might have shot himself. From the transcript (see tapatio's #195):

MATTHEWS: No. No one has every accused him of shooting himself on purpose. MALKIN: Yes. Some of them say that.

I saw the end of the exchange. I've read Jay Nordlinger before but never seen him.

I saw just the part when he and Sean were saying along the lines of "say WHAT?!" and asked if she wanted to reconsider.

To his credit Sean said George Bush served his country.

Outrageous and vile are the dems.

Brilliant example of liberals flawed thinking:

"So all the vets who did go to Viet Nam are baby killers and murderers and all the vets who served in the reserves and national guard are betrayers."

Nearly every single thing we thought about the war was portrayed incorrectly by the press and by the way in which Kerry was able to characterize our beloved, brave soldiers. I could sob. It is a tragedy.

Your reaction is the reason we must go through this.

This affair is not about the Presidential election. It is, in fact, about Viet Nam.

The country has been living with a lie for thirty years. The truth, however, is beginning to dawn and America is in the process of shedding its demons.

The Swift Boat Vets are the agent of this change. John Kerry will be destroyed by it, as a matter of "collateral damage" -- a mere bystander (though hardly an innocent one).

Both the left and the mainstream media are going to take it in the chops, as well. And, with their Viet Nam myth exploded, one wonders exactly what the left will have left.

History will be served.

Suit yourself. I heard the exchange, with context and timing that your snippet omits. No reasonable observer comes away with the impression that Michelle Malkin appeared to believe that Kerry might have shot himself.

They trot Gergin out as a Republican--when he switched sides years ago.

But that way, the media can stay balanced.[/sarcasm]

If the Kerry camp admits the Swiftees are right about one thing, only one, then the dam will break.

Is the Kerry campaign self destructing on the inside all by itself or perhaps are Clinton Moles in the campaign helping it destruct?

I missed Galanti on Hannity's show.

Thank you for telling us what he had to say.

Pray for our country.

(Although I missed him on the radio today, I do know who he is from the SV commercial and he was the Virginia chairman of McCain 2000)

I've read the transcripts and I've heard the audio.
Cbolt is correct.
Michelle Malkin consistently referred to the 'injuries' as "self-inflicted" wounds. Matthews is the one who repeatedly used the phrase, 'shot himself'.
Mr. Secret Agent should go back and re-read the transcript and consider Matthew's style of constantly talking over his adversary. It was my impression that Michelle was merely stating that some veterans agreed that some of Kerry's wounds were self-inflicted. Matthew's is the one who rammed the 'shot-himself' comment into the 'dialogue' (more like monologue)...

Read tapatio's #195. Is it not a full and complete transcript?

I too, heard the exchange and thought Michelle merely wanted to explain the difference between "shot himself on purpose" and "self-inflicted wound".

She had many chances to simply say "No!" when Matthews asked her, if she thought Kerry shot himself on purpose. She never did.

She did answer "Yes!" one time. One Yes vs zero No's.

I conclude she thinks that Kerry might have shot himself on purpose on one occasion. Matthew wouldn/t let her qualify, explain, or call for any more investigation.

Galanti spoke highly of McCain. Said the NV wanted to send McCain home, but McCain refused to go and leave the other POWs behind. The NV were furious with McCain and then beat the hell out of him. I had never heard this from a firsthand witness. Raised my respect for John McCain.

Galanti also told Sean that he supported and voted for McCain in the primary, but had voted for George Bush versus Al Gore.

Once as a boy, I put up a target on an oak tree and then foolishly shot it with my 22 with a round loaded with birdshot. It bounced back all over my face. IT COULD'VE BLINDED ME!

It wasn't until recent years, seeing people like Cleland and Kerry, that I realized that this kind of stupidity is "heroic" and deserving of medals.

Matthew's is the one who rammed the 'shot-himself' comment into the 'dialogue' (more like monologue)...

Malkin could have ended that by saying "No" when Matthews asked her if she thought Kerry shot himself. Many opportunities to answer Matthew"s question yes or no, as he asked.

She never answered "No" to Matthew's question, in fact she answered "Yes" once.

It's actually getting quite hysterical watching the Keystone Kerrys falling all over themselves trying to reinvent history.

Someone in the new media needs to put together a montage of clips of Kerry people giving varying versions of Kerry's "truth."

From tapatio's 195:

MALKIN: Well, yes. Why don‘t people ask him more specific questions about the shrapnel in his leg. They are legitimate questions about whether or not it was a self-inflicted wound. (CROSSTALK) MATTHEWS: What do you mean by self-inflicted? Are you saying he shot himself on purpose? Is that what you‘re saying? MALKIN: Did you read the book... MATTHEWS: I‘m asking a simple question. Are you saying that he shot himself on purpose. MALKIN: I‘m saying some of these soldiers... MATTHEWS: And I‘m asking question. MALKIN: And I‘m answering it. MATTHEWS: Did he shoot himself on purpose. MALKIN: Some of the soldiers have made allegations that these were self-inflicted wounds. MATTHEWS: No one has ever accused him of shooting himself on purpose. MALKIN: That these were self-inflicted wounds. MATTHEWS: Your saying there are—he shot himself on purpose, that‘s a criminal act? MALKIN: I‘m saying that I‘ve read the book and some of the... (CROSSTALK) MATTHEWS: I want an answer yes or no, Michelle. MALKIN: Some of the veterans say... MATTHEWS: No. No one has every accused him of shooting himself on purpose.

Matthews interpretation of self-inflicted was shooting yourself on purpose - not Malkin's. Matthew was badgering and bullying her - putting words in her mouth. I count six times that Matthews said shot/shooting) himself on purpose just in the section listed above. Matthews might as well have been interrogating himself.
