Jeremy Wariner, first white american to enter the top ten of global sports

Sprinting is not only the most natural form of movement, but also an individual sport that allows comparing the performance of differente athletes over different periods of time.
Today sprinting became the first and ONLY truly global individual sport.
Jeromy Wariner became today the first white american (and the second white ever, after the greek Kenteris in 2002) to enter the top ten "all time" performer list of an olympic sprint contest (100, 200 and 400 m).

The Olympics are racist! Only one gold medal has gone to an American black... out of 25 gold medals! I mean, look at the nations grabbing all the gold: Australians, US whites, Chinese, Koreans, Germans, Brits, Japanese, Russians, Italians. All whites and asians! Where's Iran*? Suriname? Bostwana? Brazil*? Kenya? Mexico?

(*Brazil, Mexico and Iran, are, of course, largely not black. But because they are poor and dominated by corrupt socialists, they still count as black. Korea and China are white. Go figure.)

Did ya know that the US Olympic track officials had to tell them to cool it after their antics in the prelims?

No...I didn't know that. Looks like they didn't listen too well.

Looks like Mo was the GOAT after all. Just not the way he thought he'd be.

Geez, what's wrong with a little chest thumping. You train your whole life for a less than 10 second moment in the sun. I see nothing wrong with it. And please don't forget that the first time I saw an American Athlete wrap himself up in the American flag and proudly declare how proud they were to race for the US was today, at that Sprint Race.

" Why would they dope then and risk so much?"
Yes there are some runners that use drugs. But that's because they are victims of the propaganda lies, and so they think they will actually do better.
But the important cases (Kenteris above all) are manufactured. Kenteris is totally innocent. His only mistake was to have trusted his trainer, that was/is part of the conspiracy to frame him.

Good point Hildy. I was pleasantly surprised when Justin Gatlin said he did it for the USA.

From an athlete's perspective, wouldn't the win mean less if you knew you won by doping?

Sure, but cheaters can rationalize anything. Winning is more important than feeling pure about winning, I suppose.

I have no affinity for cheaters, whether it's from using a syringe, or foot-wedging a golf ball to a better lie. It's the principle involved.

If Lauryn Williams got silver because some other chick was slamming syringes into her butt, then I'd get very upset.

But, as of now, I have to assume the Belarussian woman got it fair and square.

Forget Marion Jones -- Lauryn Williams is the real deal.

This is a joke, right?

He skipped out on three tests (knowing that skipping even ONE can count as a positive test), invents a motorcycle accident... then spends days in the hospital hooked up to an IV, after a MINOR traffic accident?

You have to be joking. Why the IV? Surely not to try and flush banned substances from his system...

WOW! 1-2-3 Sweep for USA! Wariner is the first white American man to win a sprint medal since Mike Larabee's 400 gold in 1964.

Mmmmm...not quite. They run more than one race in their lives. In fact, they run a lot of races. They have more than one interview plastered all over the tube. In fact, they each got quite an "Up Close and Personal" video colonoscopy.

What's wrong with a little chest thumping? Nothing. Nothing at all. But that is not what they are engaging in. And if it were, they wouldn't have been told to cool it by event officials.

Please tell me, because I really don't know, what he did that was so terrible.

I really don't know, what he did that was so terrible.

I didn't say it was terrible. I only said that someone who only goes on the track to do his job or takes his shot, is refreshing.

What Maurice Greene did was irritating. At least it was to me.

He and Justin Gatlin and Shawn Crawford, all of the United States, spent their time in the spotlight last night strutting on the track like a group of prize, supercilious turkeys. I was embarrassed for them and I wound up hoping that the Jamaican would beat them all.

Previous to the race, Maurice Greene was featured in a video biopic where his immense ego left no room for the possibility that he might not be the greatest of all time. Even after he lost the race he strutted and preened as if he'd just broken the world record. The NBC commentators took note of it and said so as well.

It takes all kinds of folks to make up a world, but I just wasn't brought up that way. I find it refreshing and heartening that there are still young people like Justin Wariner who were...and appreciate that theirs is a God given talent.

Some folks will agree with me and some won't. But, you asked...so I'm tellin'. That's all.

Correction:
Jeremy Wariner. Not Justin.

(Where'd that come from?)

I don't know, but I'm also one of those people that enjoy seeing the end zone dances. It's a sport, and it's entertainment. I think they're all amazing. And Maurice Greene is incredible. (WHAT A BODY!!!!).

On the former, I will agree. He is one heck of an athlete.
On the latter...well, I'll just take your word for it with no further comment.     =;^)

The USA Softball players did it too. They held their flag up proudly after beating the Aussies.

No, it's not a joke. Before you repeat what the media says, you should ask yourself the cardinal question :
- why didn't the media give him the opportunity to express ?

... assuming that there isn't a gallon of EPO in her blood.

They've figured out how to include blood in an athlete's steroid-stream now?

Let me add something to what you mentioned :
Jeromy Wariner wrote more history yesterday :
- the first victory of a white american in a sprint discipline since Mike Larabee's 400 gold in 1964.
- the second white athlete to get a world wide title since 1972 (the other one was the greek K. Kenteris in 2000 (Olympics) and 2001 (World Championships).

THe large majority of the 75,000 attending the 200 m semi-finals chanted "KENTERIS, KENTERIS"
