Without any evidence, or use of simple commonsense, Michelle Malkin claimed that Swift boat Vets said that Senator John Kerry gave himself a self-inflicted gun shot wound during his combat service in Viet-Nam.
Hardball host, Chris Matthews, challenged Ms. Malkin on this claim, and end up making her look foolish when Matthews made clear he had never heard this from the group and pressed her for information of who told her this.
In desperation, Malkin, dropped a couple of names but it was too late to save herself from the hammering that the Hardball host gave her.
The next day Shaun Hanity expressed his anger over the interview, implying she was treated badly.
But the questions Matthews asked was fair.
Malkin had no business making such a ridiculous claim, without any evidence to back it up.
And she had none.
She wanted to attack Kerry and got more that she bargined for.
The tape of this interview is availible on Media Matters, and a full excerpt of the interview with Malkin is posted also.

lying troll
Is that you jane Fonda Kerry?
Thanks for signing up to post this piece of crap. Do you work for "media matters."
Guess it all depends on your point of view..it was clear that Mathews had not read the book "Unfit for Cammand" and that he ambushed Malkin as she was suppose to be on to talk about her book.
If you would like to help the Swift Boat Vets ( as I have, and I urge all to do-- even a few dollars will help ) kindly click on this logo:
Two of Kerry's PH were due to improper use of weaponry - grenade launchers. These were self-inflicted wounds, whether by stupidity or on purpose.
I'm all for reading 'barf alerts' now and then. Don't worry about the criticism. People are just wondering if you are a dissenter. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt. Now to clear this mess up.
"...when Matthews made clear he had never heard this from the group and pressed her for information of who told her this..."
Matthews pretended that 'self-inflicted wounds' automatically means 'deliberate'. Anyone who hears his ranting-- noting that Malkin was not expecting to talk about this, might be impressed that she was coherant at all through the tag team shouts being thrown at her by two men. He blindsided her. It was supposed to be an interview about her book. She was not prepared to speak about Kerry's Purple Hearts. The fact that she did not argue with his false assumption is irrelevant. He made the false assumption. Not her. She had little choice but to assume he knew what he was talking about.
In the final analysis who is attacking who, and what is being said is far less important than the fact the media is focused on it, one way or another. Kerry's war record is the subject and he isn't framing the discussion. It's a total loser for him.
Gorgeous. Intelligent. Famous. Successful author, widely read. Appears regularly on all the leading opinion shows: TV and radio. Financially set for life. Will be quoted and discussed and remembered, fifty years from now...
... and then... well: and then there's you, isn't there...?
Har! This piece STARTS OFF with a sentence which contains TWO lies!
1. Malkin was discussing a claim that the book, 'Unfit for Command' asserted.
(It was not Malkin's claim, it was the claim of the Vietnam veterans who WERE THERE.)
2. Malkin never said "gun shot", not once.
(Chrissy the Sissy made that up out of the blue.)
Had Matthews, or these scumbags at Media Matters, bothered to read the book they would know that Kerry detonated a shell and got superficially knicked by an errant piece of shrapnel. That is, "self-inflicted".)
Media Matters and the rest of the Democrat scumbags are gnashing their teeth because their boy Kerry has been exposed as a coward who ran away, lol. This race for President is all over except for the crying. Bush wins in a 45 state landslide.
So you're an idiot. QED. Begone, troll.
Ivan
Matthews looked like an idiot because he had not read the book and could not grasp the difference between self-inflicted from one's own discharge of his weapon, and putting a gun to his body and instentionally shooting himself.
No one has EVER suggested Kerry intentionally wounded himself; but he fired his weapon and was hit with a piece of shrapnel from that discharge.
Did Kerry shoot himself intentionally ? No.
Was his wound self-inflicted? Yes.
"Shaun Hanity", huh?
HAhahaaaaa.....!
Man, is this pantload banned yet?
With their lousy ratings? Their office Christmas party involves the entire staff heading down to Central Hardware, en masse, and shoplifting handfuls of nails, f'crying out loud... :)
