Christian Frat Rejected by UNC

A Christian student group that refused to sign a non discrimination policy has been denied official recognition by the University of North Carolina.

Alpha Iota Omega would not follow university policy requiring membership to be open to all, because it wanted only those with similar beliefs to join in.

Without official recognition, the frat cannot recieve student fee money.

I am not surprised that this particular University would do such a thing, they have a long history of such activity. What surprises me is that there are enough students with Christian beliefs there to form such a group. This college is not the norm for the state, there are many Church affiliated Colleges and many others in the UNC system that are much more hospitable to Christian ethics. The only way the school will ever change is if enough people in the state began to send their children to other schools, but I am not sure that will do either.

The professors are more liberal than the student body at every public university in NC...but they are very aggressive in Chapel Hill. I could never have dealt with that level of propaganda and social engineering. There are tons of conservative alumns however. I even met a straight, male UNCG graduate.
