A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day
Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997. Over 100,000 people have registered for posting privileges on Free Republic, and the forum is read daily by tens of thousands of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.
A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day was introduced on June 24, 2002. It's only a small room in JimRob's house where we can get to know one another a little better; salute and support our military and our leaders; pray for those in need; and congratulate those deserving. We strive to keep our threads entertaining, fun, and pleasing to look at, and often have guest writers contribute an essay or a profile of another FReeper.
On Mondays please visit us to see photos of A FEW OF FR'S VETERANS AND ACTIVE MILITARY
If you have a suggestion, or an idea, or if there's a FReeper you would like to see featured, please drop one of us a note in FR mail.
We're having fun and hope you are!

Welcome to TGIF at the Finest! We hope you've been having as much fun as we have with our essays and/or spotlight on various FReepers. From the beginning, we've been kicking back on Saturdays and Sundays and simply reviewing the features of the week; our weekend threads now start on Friday and continue through Sunday. If you missed seeing any of this week's threads and want to say hello there now, just click on the link for that particular day. If you'd like to drop in and out of this thread today through Sunday, please feel free to do that also. One of us will try to be around to see the welcome mat is still out, put the coffee pot on, and maybe even bring fresh flowers for the table. : )

1) Click on the graphic to open the Calendar. 2) Once there you can click on any month and even click to the right to go into next year. Once you are in the month that you joined FR you will need to click on the number in the calendar and then an add item screen will come up. 3) In the next box enter your name in the "Calendar Text" field and then click on submit. 4) If any of the screens fail to load simply click on refresh in your browser and that will usually fix it. 5) If all else fails or simply if you want me to do this for you send me a FReepmail and I will gladly do it for you. ~Mixer

God Bless Our Military
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Below are names of some of our FReepers' loved ones who are serving our country. If you have someone you would like to add, please address a post to Billie; Mama_Bear; Dutchess; Aquamarine and we will add their name to this list. As we pray for them, we pray also for all our nation's leaders, and military personnel, and their families and friends. May God hold them close to His heart.
~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~
We ask Lord, that You guide the leaders of our great country in their hour of decision. The burden that has been placed on their shoulders is overwhelming. We ask that with Your infinite wisdom You guide them gently to the right decisions.
Please give us the strength, Lord, to get through each difficult and devastating day that faces each of us and our country. Protect and guide our Military that are now being called to duty, strengthen them in their trials and temptations; give them courage to face the perils which beset them; and grant them a sense of your abiding presence wherever they may be; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Happy Friday!
Aqua, you replied to lonestar thusly:
"Sounds like natural justice, seems like Clinton used to say things like that too."
To my mind immediately had came the memory of this actually being said about Bill Clinton.
Sounds as if it is just an adaptation of it by someone, rather than a fact.

Glad you took the time to join us today. Lots of good threads on the 'Unfit For Command" book today, hope you have enough time on the computer at the library to read a few.
To: LadyX
Hi Lady. I think it's possible that they both made the same slip of tongue...especially the way that Kerry tends to flip things around.
May they both come to know the Lord and change their ways.
To: LadyX
FR must be very busy today, that last post to you took about 30 seconds to show up on the thread.

~~ PHOTOS from CHARLEY's Foray to PUNTA GORDA ~ ~
First, let me thank all of you have offered prayers for Steve, treating patients there. He was able to go home Wednesday evening, going back at 6 this morning, and thus able to download some photographs he had taken.
Photography is one of his hobbies, and he wanted records useful to DMAT, and has placed them on a website for easy viewing.
(Each one has a Properties URL and can be used freely.)
This is the e-mail with the information for you to get there, before I post a few of them today.
"I've uploaded some of my photos from our DMAT deployment to Hurricane Charley on www.NikonNet.com. We replaced one of the three hospitals closed by storm damage by setting up our treatment tents in a parking lot across the street. We can do pretty much anything a regular hospital can do except hang blood. The first day, we only saw about 50 patients, but when the streets were more cleared and the word got out, we began receiving many more casualties each day. I worked the day shift from 7am to 7pm. On Wednesday, I was one of two PAs working with two physicians. Along with nurses and paramedics, we saw over 130 patients. That's busy even for a well-staffed emergency department!
To get to the website, simply click the address below and you'll be sent directly to my NikonNet photo album:
http://home1.nikonnet.com/servlet/com.arcsoft.LoginNew?com=arcsoftBanner&awp=index3.html&DIRECT=&USERNAME=nikonpa&PASSWORD=nikoneditor_-1355445236&WHO=memberguest
If that doesn't work, go to www.nikonnet.com, and click the "Albums" button. Then log in using the following information:
Login ID: nikonpa Guest password: nikoneditor_-1355445236
You should be able to download any pictures you want by right-clicking on them and saving them to your hard drive. You should be able to share this login information with others, but you'll only be able to log in one at a time.
Don't forget to sign my guestbook!"
=================================================
There are 39 photographs - a few of them of patient wounds that are not too gross.
Do note that only one person at a time can view the album, so be patient and go back, if need be. Although I have a slow dialup connection, it did not take very long for each to load for me. Advancing was easy, arrows to go forward and back.
If you do sign his guestbook, perhaps place 'FR' by your name, either real or screen name?
That way, he will know you are a Friendly Freeper, and of Freeper Power ..:))
Will post a few of them here for you today...
Several are not of the damage, but of beauty, as well.
All his adult life, knowing I am Florida clouds-and-sunrises/sunets-deprived, he has fed me spectacular pictures.
One was when he had made a presentation at a Conference in Boston, flying home to Florida - shot a sunset over the wingtip while going past Cape Canaveral for me.
The best kinds of presents, compared with material, store bought things...

Much apreciated, Dave, and I will.
Laughing here, because while I had open the pictures in the album, it must have timed out.
Will now have to wait to post some when the site is not in use.

Photo with Undersecretary Brown, Homeland Security.
Seemed like a nice guy.
The inside of our main treatment tent.
We had cardiac arrests, traumas, nail punctures,
lacerations, gastroenteritis, eye injuries,
you name it!
My corner (literally) of the world during our deployment.

I've uploaded some too, use them if you want to, I'll leave them in my storage site. (didn't see the guestbook so I couldn't sign in, sign it for me if you can Lady)
The first one has that tropical sky that you can't look at without having a good feeling even with that tragic scene.
This one of Steve looking at x-rays reminds me of you Margaret.
And the gorgeous South Florida sunset.
Need to go run some errands. Will get back here when I can.

Didn't know you were doing this, Aqua...
That last one, by the way, was posted not for the sunset, but because if you look closely, that is the temporary "The Sign for ER" they hastily planted to direct incoming patients !!
I'll have access, Aqua, to Steve's site, and have saved several - posting more here today.

Sunrise - Sunset - and a Rainbow:
Nature is both awesome and glorious!
Another Florida sunset.
(And then comes Mommo's favorite one)
