Change the name of the show to Low Ball. Or Eight Ball. Maybe Oddball.

The last time I watched Matthews was about 2 1/2 years ago and I knew then he was a thumb twaddling jerk.

The question shouldn't be whether a guest is old enough but rather "are you too old to be on this show?" Anyone over eight years old would find him to be an insufferable boor. I can easily picture Chrissy shooting spit wads at his guests while they try to respond to his hysterics.

I've not watched him in years and now our cable doesn't carry MSNBC so that works out. But I do read these threads and am amazed he's still on the air and hasn't been punched in the face by someone.

I think Chris Matthews is bipolar and is not under treatment

Asking the FEC to pull the ads?

Pure grandstanding. The FEC would have to pull all 527 ads. Bad for Kerry camp. Without their 527s, their campaign would be at a distinct disadvantage. It's strictly for show.

"...hasn't been punched in the face by someone."

Could only improve his looks. I would charge him for the service.

Definitely. AND, asking the publisher and booksellers to ban the book is pure theater. It's upsetting to hear ANYONE wanting to ban a book (unless it threatens national security) and this tactic of Kerry's will make people want to buy it all the more.

Kerry had every chance to address the charges made by the Swift Boat vets. He didn't do that but instead attacked the messengers and next will be the timing. LOL

"... fantasy of seeing his butt thrashed."

Part II of fantasy...

The Governator announces at a press conference that in response to Chris Matthews humiliating beating, he is introducing new legislation, "The Girly-Man Protection Act."

Kerry had every chance to address the charges made by the Swift Boat vets.

That he did. I heard O'Niel (sp?) on Rush say that he took this to the Kerry campaign last March and previously I heard him tell Hannity that he took this to the DNC before the primary campaigns last fall. Any complaint about the timing is completely bogus.

I wonder the same thing about O'Reilly but he's a horses butt of a different color. Same bullying tactics though.

Unless someone is on O'Reilly that I really want to see, like Guliani, I don't watch him either. And for the reason you mentioned.

I heard her on Rush's show today. I can't say I'm surprised. We quit watching Hardball months ago because we just couldn't stand Matthews anymore. He doesn't care about anyone's opinions but his own. If the guests agree with him, great, but if they don't, he spends the whole time trying to trash them. He displays the gutter politics that he learned so well at the knee of Tip O'Neill of MA during the Reagan administration.

Regarding Willie Brown's statements about Kerry; if Kerry is having trouble with a few 60-70 year old Swift Boat Vets who are not looking to do him physical harm, can you imagine how he'd react to a terrorist attack as President?

Hubby and I are reading "Sum of All Fears" to our kids. I've read it before, and would urge all of you who haven't read it to do so. The administration in that book is what we'd get with Kerry as President, and it ain't pretty!

Agreed.

Also checked out DU's response to Malkin's appearance... predictable.

About halfway down, someone chimes in with the idea that she has great "DSL".

It's not a reference to an internet connection, and the last word is "Lips". Of course, this generated much response.

VERY high level of discussion over there...

"SHUT THEM DOWN."

All your suggestions sound excellent. But contact the sponsors of Hardball first. Concentrate on them because they're the only ones with a tight grip on MSNBC's short hairs. Without them, there would be no MSNBC at all.

Interesting. Thanks for that report, TigersEye. I hadn't heard that tidbit.

Kerry can't recover from this, imo. He's toast.
