John Kerry Had his Citation Rewritten 14 Years After Awarded

Posted on 08/19/2004 9:33:21 PM PDT by onyx eyes

John Kerry had his Citation for the Silver Star rewritten 14 years after he received it, according to Brit Hume, Fox News. The rewritten version signed by John Lehman, Secretary of Defense during the Reagan Admin., assumingly, Mr. Hume says, because Lehman would go along with a senior member on the Intelligence Committee.

The story follows sKerry's profiled history, so I find it totally believable. Although there are circumstances where this action would be completely legitimate under the UCMJ, Kerry's name in itself raises suspicion.

But - - with the media on full scale attack mode protecting their boy, how do we second guess which "truth" will actually get legs? The media shrills will educate us on those circumstances of legitimacy , related or not, to this find and cloud the detailed explanation into irrelevance.

That make guys like Brit Hume all the more important to balanced reporting. The MSM needs an enema! And maybe a few lost FCC licenses.

The Lehman citation is still there. I'm doing a "site suck" on all those PDFs so I have a copy in case they disappear.

This is way more fascinating than the Scott Peterson trial, and it's gaining momentum. I'm sure the intricate twists and turns of this story can last for at least two more months.

By the way, what ever happened to the "secret documents in Burger's pants" story?

Was this to get new medals since he hrew his old ones away.

IF, in fact, he wanted NEW MEDALS, he would have to request and I BELIEVE the SecNav would have to sign NEW DOC for that to happen. What makes NO SENSE to me is why the WORDING changed, unless Lehman wanted to kiss a Senator's ass for some unknown reason.

Thanks, then I will give up my futile search.

Well, hell's bells, then Kerry is a liar.
I am shocked. The plot thickens and I am really enjoying seeing him sqirm.

Whoa....!
Kerry's citation was rewritten by the John Lehman?
The same John Lehman of the famous '9-11 Commission', renowned for its integrity and non-partisanship? The same commission which saved America from future terror attacks by publicly grilling Jamie Gorelick and investigating how "the wall" was erected and how it confounded the nation's law enforcement and intelligence agencies and effectively opened the door to the terrorists of 9-11?
That John Lehman?

If you followed the Link, you would see it is the text of all THREE Silver Star Citations. Hyland, Zumwalt, Lehman.

The most dramatic changes are between the Hyland (1st) and Zumwalt (2nd) versions. The Lehman version has a bit of extra fluff at the end, but is materially the same as the Zumwalt version.

Wait a minute. Just how many citations did Lehman sign?

Mine incident on March 13, 1969

That came from a document saved off Kerry's website at the time of the initial thread at least a month ago.

There are 2 bronze citations (one from Lehman)

There are 3 silver citations (one from Lehman)

Total Lehman citations = 2

"Bush can still lose this election and may. A lot is going to depend on his speech at the convention."

I'm wondering how much disruption the left can come up with on the streets of New York in order to make sure there is little coverage of GW's speech or the substance of the GOP Convention itself. Obviously some big plans are in the works, but maybe they won't be able to pull it off. We'll see.

I have known multiple people who have gotten 3 or more purple hearts during WWII. Main one I recall had three pass-through bullet wounds, and was taken out of action by a fourth into his butt.

Something to consider, according to the citation Kerry was in tactical command of the 3 PCFs involved in the operation.
With 3 boats under his command, no way should he have go off running into the jungle to kill some kid. His responsibility was to use the assets available to him to best support the operation in progress. Leaving his post is pure negligence.
One last thought, if he was in tactical command I bet he wrote up the after action report. Just as he did when he got his bronze star. What a coincidence.

I'VE THOUGHT THAT THIS SORT OF THING HAD TO BE TRUE IN AT LEAST HALF THE MEDALS CASES

all along.

Entirely plausible, to me.

Puppet masters may well even be involved in it.

Yes, proof positive. That FR may have significant impact in this election if we all stay on our toes. Good job, folks.
