John Kerry had his Citation for the Silver Star rewritten 14 years after he received it, according to Brit Hume, Fox News. The rewritten version signed by John Lehman, Secretary of Defense during the Reagan Admin., assumingly, Mr. Hume says, because Lehman would go along with a senior member on the Intelligence Committee.
Doesn't sound right to me.
Did he say what changes were made in the citation?
Brit Hume is no Chris Matthews--and thank GOD for that.
Oh, this is rich. I smell landslide.
Yes I saw this tonight. I thought it was new also as I hadn't seen it here. I thought I heard Brit say it was 17 years after the fact. 17 or 14 that makes little difference anyway. The point was the citation was new under SecNavy during Reagan. Many years after the fact.
And yes it was totally reworded and changed. They talked with their Military analyst, and he said normally when one wants a copy, they just copy the original (which is in the govt base). He had never seen an instance where it had been reworded like this.
Was this to get new medals since he hrew his old ones away.
He doesn't want to pull troops out of Germany, he's still stuck in the Mekong Delta, circa 1970. He's about the last guy I'd look to for advice on an exit strategy from Iraq.
John Lehman is still alive. Perhaps someone needs to get a deposition from him.
I have been trying to find out how many Vietnam Vets came home with three purple hearts on their tour or tours of duty in Nam. Bob Dole was in the second World War for 3 years and only got 2 purple hearts and also spent like 5 years in a hospital and something like 23 operations.
You don't think Kerry was lying about his purple hearts to get his purple hearts, do you?
Anyone know where I can find out how many Vets have actually gotten 3 purple hearts?
Brit needs to interview Lehman about this....

Is that the original, or the Lehman version? Are both versions available, or just the Lehman one?
Qwinn
Someone on the boards says the citations were pulled from the Kerry Website today - this explains it ...
EXACTLY.
Bush can still lose this election and may. A lot is going to depend on his speech at the convention.
Source is Find Law.com
Don't worry about Bush's convention speech. He doesn't need soaring eloquence. All he has to do is say he's a straight talker from Texas and that while the listener may not always agree with what he says that he (Bush) believes in what he's saying. It will be a dramatic contrast with le Kerry.
