I read this pretty carefully. It describes Kerry as a very competent young officer who was well regarded by superiors and subordinates.

If it has anything critical in it, it suggests that he was young, ambitious and a little boorish.

"That is not to say that Kerry was not a good officer. He was and to my recollection was well liked. Did he stalk the passageways showing his future presidential timber? Absolutely not. A reporter from the Chicago Tribune actually asked me that. When I told him that he was just another goofy Ensign, he was horrified and did not use that quote."

Some pretty interesting comments. How well liked he was, but also pointing out exactly where he 'embellishes' his record, and the fact that the XO does NOT support him as CIC.

Drip.................drip...................drip.......drip........drip...............

And tonight, while watching "Scarborough" (because Mr. Thurlow of "Swift Boat Vets for Truth" was on)I learned that Scarborough's request for someone from the Kerry "band of brothers" to appear was roundly denied by the Kerry camp. Scarborough said they had ALWAYS provided someone readily to discuss and debate, but it appears that they must be going over their scripts for future appearances...........or maybe the fax machines for their "Democratic talking points" were down..........

Thurlow was EXCELLENT, by the way, and refuted the KRAP that Kerry tried to put out this afternoon.......Swift Boats ARE NOT MESSING AROUND.........HOO-RAY!!!!!!!! (If only the public would have paid as much attention to the Arkansas State Troopers....sigh)

"There is no question that John Kerry earned his decorations and that he put his life at risk in the service of his country. There is no doubt in my mind, moreover, that he has the intelligence to serve as president."

Gee thanks for the Link. /smirk

MORE KERRY LIES from TOUR OF DUTY, NOW FROM THE GRIDLEY!

http://home.nycap.rr.com/pwcarter/the%20kerry%20page.html

"3. Page 87 has Kerry “shuttling sailors and provisions” between GRIDLEY and KITTY HAWK in a small motor whaleboat out in the Gulf of Tonkin. The regular method of travel between the two ships was via helo. That is how I went over to the KITTY HAWK. If such an event did occur, it would have been unusual and hardly a shuttle."

"4. Later on page 87 Kerry talks about Olongapo in the Philippines. He talks about bloated corpses floating in the river and starving women with babies dying of malnutrition. Now Olongapo was a wild and wooly town that existed solely for the entertainment of the US Navy, but in over three years of calling there, I never saw a single instance of either thing happening. Kerry uncovered this in his first visit. If this was from his letters home then he was certainly writing for dramatic effect. Balderdash."

"-There is no question that John Kerry earned his decorations and that he put his life at risk in the service of his country. There is no doubt in my mind, moreover, that he has the intelligence to serve as president. But there is also no doubt in my mind that his anti-war activities while our troops were still fighting, dying and being tortured in filthy Vietnam prisons were despicable.

For that reason, even aside from his anti-defense voting record in the Senate, he is one ex-shipmate that I could never support as commander-in-chief of the armed forces-"

That says it all!

Kerry fooled them all! They thought he was just some average ensign but he was actually a secret agent. When they were sleeping Kerry was in his scuba gear secretly going ashore and finding out all the "secret" things. Kerry would swim to shore then unzip his wet suit revealing his tuxedo. Then jump into his Aston-Martin and race off to take care of things we just can't post on the Internet. At least not post and allow you to read about then live.

Ah, there are so many rumors about Kerry. For example, Kerry met Teresa Heinz a year before her husband John Heinz died in a airplane accident involving a helicopter. But was it an accident? There is a story about a tall "geeky" looking guy who was near the accident. Who was carrying a box with an antenna connected to it. The box was reported to have a big red button with the words "Press to make helicopter run into Heinz plane" on it. After the accident the tall fellow said something, possibly in French then left on a Harley with a surfboard strapped to it. Or maybe it was a snow board. Or some kind of windsurfing board. Anyway, where was Kerry the day Heinz died? Nobody seems to know. The witnesses chased the tall man but they were frightened when he started throwing things at them. What were those things? Purple hearts.

John Kerry, international man of mystery. Super spy. Another rumor was that Kerry was on the grassy knoll in Dallas. Did Kerry think there could only be one JFK? Who knows? It's all secret.

Yep, Kerry is a super duper spy. I shouldn't post this but it's only fair that the truth get out about Kerry.

There is a very damming account of Kerry's betrayal of his fellow soldiers till in the field and in the POW camps. In addition the article mentions several stories told by Kerry which appear to have been complete fabrications. For example Kerry talks about a shore visit his shipmates seem to believe never happened. Like the searing memories of "Christmas in Cambodia" Kerry seems to have invented these stories. This makes me wonder about the "conversations with foreign leaders" Kerry talked about recently, and whether this too might have been a just a lie to win support on Kerry's part.
