While running for Senate against Bill Weld in 1996, a lot of the same issues that dog Kerry now were part of the political landscape. To placate some concerns, John Kerry allowed reporter Charles Sennott of the Boston Globe to watch five hours of his homemade video that was taken while he was on the Meekong Delta in Vietnam.
The article, which is entited: "The making of the candidates: JOHN FORBES KERRY" was published on page A31 of the Globe on 10/6/1996.
In it, Kerry admitted that he had used a video camera while in combat and had reenacted many of the events that transpired on the film while a member of PT-93 on the Mekong Delta in Vietnam.
Specifically, he told Mr. Sennott that he had captured film reenacting the area where he had won his Silver Star: "I'll show you where they shot from. See? That's the hole covered up with reeds."
He further added: "This is just something that I improvised. . . . The point was not to just take an ambush, but to go directly at them," as he pointed to the Globe reporter where "he brought the boat ashore," and explained how he "returned later with a Super 8 millimeter hand-held movie camera to record highlights of the mission."
"That's me right there. One of my crew was filming all this," Kerry gleefully told the paper.
The Globe reporter asked thr $64,000 question we all were wondering: How exactly did Kerry manage to steer his boat and shoot his video at the same time?
In response, Kerry told the Globe: "I'd steer, or direct, or fire my gun, and hold onto it when I could. Sometimes the other guys would pick it up."
Kerry also demonstrated to the reporter how he "gripped an imaginary ship's helm and thrusting his camera hand out to the side."
Kerry also goes on in the article to "clarify" how he threw other soldier's medals over the wall during the April 1971 protest in Washington and how he has recurring nightmares about his Vietnam experience.
I think the word needs to get out about how much of an opportunist Kerry is. What guy would reenact his own exploits and brag about it? He is dillusional.
Does he mention WHY he re-enacted these scenes, esp. while he was still there? Those have to be the busiest 4 months in history, for a single man to have experienced! If we are to believe all the stories, medals, secret agent trips, etc, he puts James Bond and Forrest Gump to shame!
Dillusional? Sir, you are being charitable.
This is his explanation:
"Kerry dismisses the film record of his war as 'just something I did, no great meaning to it.'"
Uh huh, sure... opportunist.
Soooooo .. this is why the Globe is silent .. they were hoping nobody would find that story from 1996.
Or .. they think we're stupid .. or both ..??
I'd love to see someone construct a timeline of Mr Ks' derring do in SEA. He would easily complete a 13 month tour of duty in 4 months and 11 days....while the rest of us indolent wretches took the whole of the allotted time...I don't know, some sort of time-warp thing?
Kerry is a liar.
Send this to Michael Dobbs at Washington Post. He needs all the research help he can get.
He was in actual combat for 3 months or less, since they have to go through a 1 month of orientation for Vietnam Duty on a Swift Boat captain.
Forest Gump! Bwahahaa. That's a good one!
"while a member of PT-93 on the Mekong Delta in Vietnam"
I suspect he meant PT-73.
If the author is accurate, JFKjr is a nut job. He served on PT-93? That's close enough to PCF-94.
The assumption is that we are all dumb and we can't communicate ideas.
Kerry's political corpse will rot in the fall.
And his wife will leave him by Jan 1.
Why did he do it? To pass it off as the real thing? To use it like a scrapbook? Just to record his 'heroics' for posterity?
He's also delusional.
That would be my guess as well. He starts out the article by mentioning "Patrol Craft Fast 93," a six-member boat he was in charge of. I don't know whether to blame Kerry or the reporter for that one. I would think the reporter. Kerry should know what boat he is on.
"Stupid is as stupid does"
" That's me right there. One of my crew was filming all this," Kerry gleefully told the paper. "
Kerry better get ahold of Del Sandusky, his main swift boat character witness , so they can get their stories straight.
"The Big Story With John Gibson," July 30, 2004
SANDUSKY: ... I was with John Kerry. We never had time to shoot movies or do any staging for any political reason or any other use than just a home movie.
I concur fully. To even think this scumbag ever wore a Naval Officer's uniform is beyond comprehension. Kerry's actions besmirch the core tenets of the senior service.
My heart is torn in anguish at the very thought that this despicable man is in contention for the Presidency.
God Save our great country.
Kindest regards to freepers all.
