A Claremont McKenna College psychology professor was convicted Wednesday of falsely reporting her car was vandalized and spray-painted with racist and anti-Semitic slurs while she was speaking at a campus forum on racial tolerance.
Kerri Dunn, 39, of Redlands was convicted of one misdemeanor count of filing a false police report and two felony counts of attempted insurance fraud. She faces up to 31/2 years in prison when she is sentenced Sept. 17.
Her attorney, Gary S. Lincenberg, issued a statement saying Dunn would appeal the attempted insurance fraud convictions.

When the article said "31/2 years", I think it's a poorly-rendered attempt at writing "three and a half years".
NO -- SHE spray-painted her own car. Two students watched her and reported it. It may have been caught on tape as well. hahahahaha.
Sounds like her real problem is being a compulsive drama-queen.

My bet is that she'll get off with probation, then be rehired to her old job.
Like any other self-respecting Democrat she was just milking the system to keep herself employed.

I mean, assuming the judge is a scumbag, too.
None of the drama queens I've known were habitual law breakers, although I'm sure there are plenty Kerri Dunns walking around. Whatever the court winds up doing with her, this convicted felon needs to be escorted out of the legal profession in a hurry.
It amazes me what those Claremont students choose to go to pieces over. Virtually every day in Los Angeles there are kids getting shot in drivebys, women getting stalked and raped, men being stabbed and shot, and all sorts of people getting crushed and mangled in car crashes. But what makes Claremont college students break down and wail is the sight of a spray-painted epithet on a beat up old Honda! I think the curriculum committee there ought to thinking about toughening up the courses at Claremont. These kids obviously have too much time on their hands.
You can't see it right now, but I'm doing a little dance right now. :-)

I put in three at Mudd and concur. Anybody who thinks that the five colleges constitute a conservative campus is smoking something.

According to media reports, former assistant visiting professor Kerri Dunn has been found guilty of attempted insurance fraud and filing a false police report in the March 9 vandalism of her car. she has a prior...which the school didnt know about when they hired her...I believe it was shoplifting back east.
