O'REILLY TO REPLAY SOME OR ALL OF HIS KRUGMAN CONFRONTATION TONIGHT. IT IS A MUST SEE.
Posted on 08/18/2004 3:50:39 PM PDT by Vic from LB
Portions or all of O'Reilly's thumping of Paul Krugman will be rebroadcast tonight on FOX at 5pm (PST) or 8pm (EST). If you didn't see it you must, it is a classic. O'Reilly pounds him into the ground.

They have been showing it on CNBC or one of the other NBC cable channels quite a bit. I am sure, it was the most lively debate that NBC has ever seen.

I really wasn't that impressed with it. Ad Hominem City.
I'd be much more impressed with O'Reilly if he'd get behind eliminating the spin in the Swift Boat issue. Just get to the truth, that's enough.
He's carrying water for Kerry now because I think he want's an interview with him.
Watch him get it too, and kiss Kerry's butt.

I used to be a O'Reilly fan, until he called the Swift Vets 'liars', because of his personal friendship with Kerry. I have also noted that O'Reilly likes 'self praise", and he will show over and over again his confrontations, incl that of Michael Moore. That interview was actually 'soft' in my opinion.

You can be sure it will only be some. He will pick out the parts that make him look best and play those.

I agree.
Paul Krugman and Bill O'Reilly....two people I cannot stand.

O-Nay It-Shay.
O'Reiily took the bark off the spineless Krugman (big deal, who couldn't?) and admittedly did it with some spirit. But the guy's got no core. How he can dismiss, out-of-hand, the SwiftVets is beyond my comprehension.
O'Reilly is dead to me.

Sorry, but I'm not watching O'Reilly until he's read Unfit for Command and can make an HONEST JUDGEMENT about the allegations it outlines.

I think there is a new consensus here(atFR) that
the big "O" has sold us out and we are not all
that enamored with him anymore. I seldom watch
his show anymore and lots of others have turned
the channel as well.

Who wants to see him gloat over this interview again. He still thinks he beat Michael Moore.

Krugman was OR without the spark. Looked like a deer in the headlights. Was out of his league. Able to hurl written insults and outrageous charges when safely insulated in his office, but when confronted in person he didn't stand up and bark back. He mewed.
Rather than appearing to take the high road by refusing to "debate," Krugman stuck me as a no-kidding smug, elitist, sanctimonious pompous a$$. A wimp of the lowest form. A coward, he actually cowered on the show. . .or maybe I imagined that based upon his expressions of fear and confusion. Just look at his eyes, they tell a story.
To: Vic from LB
Meanwhile he buries his head in the sand on SwifVets. Had enough of his "re-hash" of old shows. Just about fed up with Fox news as whole.

O'Reilly has spun out of control. He is definitely not looking out for me or anyone else...except himself. No class.
I quit watching O'Reilly.
