In the 2004 election campaign, there can be no more stark diffence between the parties than is exemplified by looking at John O'Neill and Michael Moore.
In one sense, they have something in common. Each is having some impact on the election; O'Neill with a book and Moore with a "documentary."
The similarities, however, end there.
While O'Neill was very careful to use documents, affidavits, and other evidence to tell the truth, Moore has a very reckless disdain for the truth. He is clearly nothing more than a wealthy propagandist.
O'Neill's efforts are those of the veterans who were there, and they are not supported explicitly or implicity by the Republican Party. Moore sat next to Jimmy Carter in the presidential box at the DemocRAT convention.
O'Neill is a man of honor. Moore is scum.
O'Neill is a patriot. Moore is a scam artist.
Unlike Moore, O'Neill bathes and combs his hair.
And finally, O'Neill loves America. You know about Moore.
Great comparison, doug!
I have deliciously evil thoughts about bad things happening to Michael Moore, not one of them nice!
This kind of melds two topics into one, but I just read an article about Kerry supposedly "denouncing" an ad by MoveOn talking about President Bush's military service, I'm sure to try to get President Bush to denounce the Swift Vets ad. Difference is, as you so aptly pointed out, O'Neill can back his up, Michael Moore can't.
MoveOn's commercial slamming Bush's service and Kerry's heroism is ridiculous. They weren't there for neither!
I hope the SBV keep airing their commercials. According to democrats, only those who were there have the right to speak. That leaves the left wing MoveOn weenies looking like fools.
But he criticized Bush's military record before he didn't.
I forgot to include the reaction of the mainstream media. Moore was their darling. They couldn't get enough. But they want to try to shut out O'Neill.
Susan Estrogen was spewing...I think this is going to end up hurting republicans and Bush if he does not denounce this ad now...What SPIN!
The RATS would have to go on suicide watch.
Oh, you know the RATS are really worried about this. They don't quite know what to do except try to buy some time.
Bush has made his statement....Denouncing ALL of the 5?? groups....IMO He needs to say no more.....Let the rest of us get "dirty", Bush needs to stay presidential.
Now let's see, today I requested the book at my two local libaries. Called Walmart and a bookstore and requested it. (certainly do wish the copy I ordered on line would get here! ;^)
BTW When does the next swiftboat ad come out?
Bush CANNOT get involved.
The SBV have the democrats falling all over themselves. It's more than obvious they're freaking out.
The democrats claim the SBV received funding from Republicans, but the entire country knows about MoveOns funding for Kerry. Their spin isn't working. They look ridiculous!
AND, they demanded the Bush military records because Michel Moore said something could be wrong , but now that it's decorated vets questioning Kerry, all hell breaks lose!
This is SOOOOOO good for our side!
Yes. Definitely.
Just keep denouncing all 527's, and go back to work.
Ditto, Amen and, Truth. Moore is propped up like the propaganda ministry of Hitler. The people that swallow this stuff do not care about truth, only what they want to hear and does it justify their "Blind Faith" in the Demon-cratic Party.
LOL Thats a good one.
Doug from Upland, thanks for the post. Once again, you hit a home run.
I don't know when it comes out.
I suspect he doesn't want a job ... he'll just want to go home (finally!)
