Found this obvious fake on the net today. Anyone know any history on this
and who the guy southwest of the red question mark is?

Odd that the "artist" chose Hindus for this. Especially since this was probably
a medical crew. At least those on the left side with the Doc.

Surely this has not escaped the FReepers until now?!? Fill me in with details or at least some polite and disdaining silence.

...guess that is why I posed the questions to those who saw it "50 years ago".

PS: I do not know who the guy is in regards to the question mark. The guys in the photo are Indian Sikhs who were not celebrating the attack, but rather this was their way of making a tribute to the victims (strange as that may seem).

The website that originally put this picture on the web is no longer available, but this the caption below their picture:
Passersby stop to look at a sand sculpture by artist Sudarshan Patnaik depicting the September 11 World Trade Centre attack. The sand sculpture display is a part of the ongoing Puri Beach Festival on India's Bay of Bengal.
To: EUPHORIC
This photo is absolutely real. It was taken at a sand sculpture competition in India.
I saw it the weekend it was happened, posted in the Sydney Morning Herald Photo of the Day section.
Oddly, the artist who created it said he meant it as a tribute to those who died. Since he is a sikh and actually quite famous in the world of sand sculpture, I believe him.
It seems an odd tribute to me, but that was apparently his intent.

Interesting indeed. That was one of my first thoughts. Then the "staged" or "faked" angle came into play with me at least. Especially since "question mark guy" seemed to have a shameful mood about him. Probably regarding himself.
