On the kerrylied.com site is info re the Sept.12 gathering for vets, families and supporters in D.C.
I'm sure there are many who can't make it back east but want to be a part of this peaceful, respectful gathering. I tried twice emailing the kerrylied site. Ea time mail didn't go thru. I am posting my thoughts here hoping someone can pass it along and also to start support for simultaneous gatherings throughout the country:
Please consider having gatherings on the west coast and in mid-America to coincide with the east coast event. I am sure many want to be involved that day. Simultaneous events would allow the veterans, their families and supporters who can't travel far to be involved with this important gathering.
Kerry not only was dishonest to the men and women serving, he lied to the rest of us. We were denied our chance to free a people from communism, have victory as a country and honor our military families as they deserved.
We must let the citizens of this country know that the dishonesty of Kerry's magnitude has done enourmous damage. For our childrem and the future of this nation the truth needs to be told.
Thank you for helping this citizen deal with the sadness, disappointment, and anger that many of us as civilians carry as a result of Kerry's lies. He inculcated Americans to distrust fellow citizens. The very ones who went overseas to honorably serve this country.
Our politicians were swayed, the enemy was emboldened and we as a country have seen our veterans from the Vietnam War vilified, ignored and much worse.
We also have had to live with the knowledge of what happened to the people of Vietnam when our troops were pulled out.
Mr. Kery as president would only perpetuate the lies and travisties of the past 30 plus years. Our entire national discourse regarding the Vietnam War and CURRENT policy decisions are based on the lies he and his group told the nation.
There must be a large number of vets who came home and just wanted to get back to a normal life who were not fully aware of Kerry's war crime charges against them. Those who were POW-MIA (such Senator McCain), didn't even have a chance to hear the complete content of the Kerry acusations, if they knew of them at all. How many POWs were tortured, killed as a result of Kerry's words and deeds at home.
We need to have patience and understanding of why it is so painful for many vets to hear the truth that one of their own betrayed them. One can understand why they would want all this unpleasantness to go away and not have to deal with it. They have suffered enough.
Recently, in the Seattle area (Bainbridge IS, ?) a young fellow home from Iraq was proudly marching in a parade in uniform when some in the crowd started yelling at him. So it continues.
We have the National March Against Terror on the 11th, we are supporting both events but it might be a conflict.
I would hope that Vietnam vets that support SBVFT, would try their absolute best to make it to DC, this is, after all, the most important election of our lifetime.
THAT WOULD BE A GREAT IDEA TO HAVE GATHERINGS IN OTHER CITIES TO SUPPORT THE GATHERING IN DC. I AM PLANNING TO GO TO DC BUT KNOW OTHERS CAN'T MAKE IT. HOW BOUT IT FREEPERS WHAT DO YOU THINK. GATHER NEAR THE RADIO AND TV STATIONS AND SHOW YOUR SUPPORT.
