You went south, I went north to Da Nang for the final six weeks of my tour. The area north of Vung Tau is beautiful with the mountains coming right down to the sea. I would have liked to return there some day. Too bad the war didn't turn out differently (though it might have if JFnK didn't do what he did).

"Given recent events, it would be nice to see the WSJ republish this, or allow O'Neill to 'revise and extend."

Pass the URL (below) on to all in our email addy folders and to anyone else we can.

We are the "New Media", the old media has let America down, it is now up to us as individuals to do the heavy lifting and make the outcome of this election a positive thing for our nation.

We have the power, use it or lose it.

589th engineers, Phan Rang AFB, RVN, 1969-70, Kerry is a serious joke.

" If the war was so unpopular and immoral as John Kerry and the Left say it was, how come Nixon buried McGovern in the 1972 election?"

McGovern was way too liberal at the time, though he would have fared better in today's socialist society. Nixon was doing what he could to end the war. McGovern was a nice guy and a true war hero (35 combat missions as a bomber pilot in ww2) but his socialist mindset was just pathetic. I like him despite it all, but I wouldn't vote him for dog catcher!!!

People forget that the radicals of the time weren't so much upset about what was happening to our troops. They were upset at what was happening to the enemy troops. The most common chant at a demonstration was "Ho Ho Ho Chi Minh, NLF is gonna win!" VietCong flags were everywhere. The idea was that America is a racist, imperialist, and capitalist power, and the world would be a better place if the communists won. Mao's little red book was very popular.

I would be very surprised if Kerry's forbidden book didn't extol the virtues of communism over capitalism.

I told him that we aren't gonna back off regardless of what the Bush campaign, or anyone else may say.

That's what really steams me...how the White House treats the Swiftboat Vets and their ad. I personally have yet to see John Kerry disavow, condemn or otherwise distance himself from the ridiculous antics of Moveon.Org, George Soros, Michael Moore, et al. But for some reason, our side is supposed to be a bunch of Milquetoasts.

Pardon my French, but screw that. We need to fight the Leftists at every turn. This "higher road" approach is noble, but it loses elections when the opponent fights dirty.

A retired Marine friend of mine, a great man, who carries a 7.62x39mm souvenir of that war in his leg, would rather strangle himself with his own large intestine than vote for Kerry.

Thanks, Nic!

I got to see the repeat of the Dick Cavett debate last night. Kerry hasn't
changed much in 33 years. O'Neill did a dang good job. Kerry is a liar.

Isn't Kerry something? He's practiced his spiel so well, all you need to do is substitute people and countries for the same frenchie stance he takes on everything; why, he even used france as an example in the Dick Cavett Show.

I'm assuming you meant to include the contraction. If so, I agree with you...probably is one of the reasons why he's bought up all the copies and refuses to allow it re-release, just a he refuses to sign the form 180 which would allow release of his military records.

I had to watch it twice, myself; it's just unbelievable....he just sits there and bald-faced lies. What I found absolutely the most disgusting were his giggles when John O'Neill made pointed accusations about his lies....or made an exact demand of proof from him....John O'Neill has guts and honor, something Kerry didn't have then, nor has now.
