Fine print of alien amnesty
The Washington Times ^ | 8/15/2004

Opinion polls consistently show the vast majority of Americans oppose amnesty for illegal aliens. But some Republicans continue pushing amnesty legislation. In this case, it's called AgJOBS.

Conservatives whom special interests have snookered into cosponsoring the agriculture amnesty--S. 1645 in the Senate and H.R. 3142 in the House--should read the fine print. In addition to the odious amnesty provisions, this legislation should give thinking cosponsors "buyer's remorse."

Though Republicans are the lead AgJOBS sponsors, there is a good reason most cosponsors are liberal Democrats. AgJOBS is liberal legislation

The euphemism sponsors invoke is "earned legalization.".But amnesty is amnesty, by any other name. Bottom line, alien lawbreakers are rewarded for lawbreaking; they get to keep the jobs they came here to steal.

Ask a California "economist" (if one exists) how much THE MILLIONS OF ILLEGAL ALIENS illegally residing in California add to our economy here. Most of them work for cash, pay few taxes, and illegally suck up every social service imaginable. They fill our schools to overload capacity, they eventually close our hospitals, they cheat American workers out of their jobs by working for peanuts. They learn how to commit fraud the minute they sneak across the border. We're sick of paying their bills. Please don't tell me that illegal immigration has been good for California, I know better, I live here in the middle of the mess they have brought to my state.

CALIFORNIA - ILLEGAL ALIEN HEAVEN)

Janet, as usual, you are telling it the way it is. You have to live here in the middle of this mess to see what is truly happening. If you don't live here, then you don't have a clue!

"I would rather pay more, and get the best!"

Reminds me of an old saying:

The bitterness of poor quality remains long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten.

Hi Jennikins. I believe that many of the illegal immigration apologists/supporters in other states don't have a clue! Anyone in the border states who encourages illegal immigration is either making money from it in some way, or is a politician... or possibly an illegal alien also?

We have a fairly serious problem here in Northern VA with overcrowding--20 people in a 3-bedroom house.

Also MS13 and other latin gangs.

It's almost to the point where every story in the local newspapers about shootings and murders in Northern VA involve people with hispanic surnames.

"Wow. What happened here?"

You caught Shaddap's attempt to justify the illegals with his "we won't stoop" argument. His act was followed by "mshenry's" decrepit lecture about how good the invasion is for our economy. When that didn't go over we were supposed to be impressed with her access (not grasp) of statistics but she blew that by citing biased think tanks.

She then tried to deceive us with stats about immigrants when this thread is strictly about illegal aliens. Finally she tried to sell a gross underestimate of the amount of illegals here under the noses of people who know better. Throughout all this other members countered with facts, links and personal experiences that she blithely ignored in favor of her script. Pro policy wonk sent to "straighten us out"?

Later "Porterville" piped up with a Buchanan obsession (bayourod must have loaned him his), accusing us of being Pat's die hard supporters. We must be the cleverest Buchanan support group in existence since thread after thread finds no one bringing him up except open border advocates hellbent on attacking us.

I've got to say I'm extremely impressed with you frequent posters and some FR members who apparently have the ability to track BS by virtual smell. Every time I composed a reply for these jokers someone else beat me to it. Bravo, everyone!

In case mshenry belongs to you and you happen to be lurking- choke on it, Rove!. No one elected you anyway.

Only 20 people? Here in some towns in southern Cal, finding 50 in one house is common. We see gang members everywhere. There are towns here you wouldn't want to drive through unless it's on the freeway. BIG MESS. There has been a frightening change in this area in the past ten years.

The politicians don't care because they don't have to live with it. We're FORCED to pay for the destruction of our state. Unbelievable.

Yes, I've noticed a big change here in the last 10 years as well.

I don't know if I want to grow old in this country.

"You're bringing back fond memories of a misspent youth. Sitting around a campfire on a sandbar in the Tallapoosa River, listening to an old black gent who was Uncle Remus brought to life -- and we always wanted his wampus cat stories."

Oh yes, of all the critters of the Southern swamps, the wampus cat is the most amazing and scariest. I think it's the walking on 2 legs that freaks people out. :)

"I think all of the old coots like him are gone now -- and a grand part of our southern heritage died with them."

They're going fast, but the wampus cats are still here. To some people in the swampy and more isolated areas of SC, they're very real.

That's because the 5th Column has only rhetorical tricks, limited in number, and performed as if by rote. After a few times, it jumps out at you.

People like Shaddup, henry, and porterville may have different reasons for doing what they did. No matter, as far as the well-being of the US is concerned, it amounts to a 5th column.

"I don't know if I want to grow old in this country."

Now that my beard is gray and my hair is following, I know that I don't. I think about what may be coming a lot. Yet, every place else I think of looks a lot worse.

Sometimes I wonder if Pete Townshend was right.

Hey, now. You're only as old as the woman you feel, so chase the young ones.

Think about it. Eat a healthy diet; exercise regularly; avoid alcohol, tobacco, and unsafe sex.

Die anyway.

The real choice is this: Would you rather die of something? Or for something?

I always thought the way those guys in "The Wild Bunch" went out was pretty good. Who were they fighting?

Oh yeah, now I remember.

never mind

We have to find a way to keep track of who lives within our borders.

I can easily solve that problem for you. Simply deport all of the illegals. The government already has records on you, me and the other estimated 279,999,998 LEGAL citizens.

Now wasn't that easy?

Once you get these people abnd their ilk past the WSJ-Limbaugh-Weekly Standard talking points, they are like a deer in the headlights, unable to respond. I bring up that the trend of outsourcing jobs and importing of cheap labor will turn the US into a Social Democracy, and these fools have nothing to respond to.

Janet, you and I agree because we live in this crime and costly infested mess, and have to face it every day. You are right, the ones who support illegal aliens have something in it for them. It's for the votes to keep their useless jobs. They are all extremely overpaid, not worth half of their salaries, and they are destroying the country with their greed. They put their own fat behinds ahead of saving the United states.

The evil that men do lives after them. They will be dead and buried and what they have done will continue to devastate and destroy this once wonderful and beautiful country.

For something, naturally. Just thinking about the quality of people some 30-odd years younger, who've been thru the great dumbing down. And where they and I will be in 20 or so years.

"Hey, now. You're only as old as the woman you feel, so chase the young ones."

Yeah, they feel real good. :) I'll set out bait. Most of the younger ones can outrun me now.
