Also, if we should enter a horrid nightmare where Kerry is elected President, can you imagine the expense of Secret Service to protect her overseas and the inconvenience to everyone else?

Kerry says his daughter Vanessa has won a Fulbright scholarship And, a Heinz-Kerry is applying for a scholorship exactly why??
What about the "less fortunate people"?

Could you imagine what the Press would do to GW if one of the Bush Girls accepted a Federally funded scholarship? Shouldn't relatives of members of Congress be disqualified because of the appearance of impropriety? My God, if you work for a newspaper you can't even enter any contests they sponsor. OY.

Given their terrible health care system, can't say it'll teach her anything. She is in dental school?

I think it's for the prestige more than the savings. Didn't Clinton win one of these? It's like an extra plum on a political resume, opens a few more doors in the Demo world.

Will she celebrate Christmas away from home? Will the experience be seared in her memory, too?

Won't the Secret Service have to protect Barbara Bush when she goes to Africa to work with AIDS patients, as she plans to do?

She won't even show up. She'll hit that Peter Principle like a freight train Well, if its an exchange program, and she's taken a leave of absence...what am I missing here?
Our tax dollars at work.
I won't go in to the propriety of Kerry not scolding his daughter for taking a LOA for without a legitimate reason.

Good for her.
But that doesn't make Kerry any more qualified to be President of the US.
