O'Neill coming up!
That pretty well says it all. Hopefully he will calm down and become an asset to FR.
Oh my gosh, I have that paperback. My Aunt ( at 70 yrs. old) gave it to in '64. She said something like---- Don't let anyone see you read it. I sent away for it and it arrived in brown wrap. The FBI can call on you!!!!!!!
I think times are a little different now, we have two extra voices - talk radio, and the internet. But, the media still has their agenda which is everything opposite from mine.
btw I moved a few years ago and was going thru my old books and priced this one on ebay. 2001 - $24.00
I was just discussing this very same concetp with my husband this afternoon. Although they want to protect their guy, the vitriol is so out of proportion that something else is going on.
Their entire ethos is under fire. They are in danger of being unmasked as dirty little cowards and not the high minded peacenicks that they have pretended to be.
I think that what bothers some of us is your attitude.
You may be fine, but join us, don't fight us.
Can you explain your Profile page to some of us who are less erudite than you are?
Having not seen the show yesterday, reading this transcript just made my blood boil.
O'Neill and all of the Swift Boat Vets were doing the same job as Kerry, many interacted with Kerry - so the obnoxious argument that Carville and Davis were pushing, that since John O'Neill never served side-by-side with Kerry, he has not valid position to make such observations, is proposterous.
Of course, O'Neill debated Kerry in '71 and has written a book that melds some 60 vets that served around Kerry, some 200 other signees, and pulled their stories together into a cohesive narrative. But by Carville's logic, Kerry and all his guys are innocent before proven guilty (ignoring their stories' conflictions and inconsistencies) while the Swift Boat Vets are guilty before proven innocent (with not just in depth refutations but simple ones like Christmas in Cambodia with the K. R.'s, etc.)
You can only shout people down for so long before it becomes obvious that someone is trying to draw the attention away from the obvious truth - otherwise there is no need to continually - and obnoxiously - talk over their query.
What I'd like to know is how John O'Neill kept himself from b*tchslapping Carvel?
The boss saw it on the seat of the pickup a few days later and had a fit. He wanted to know if anyone else had seen it or me reading it. I said that I didn't think so and he calmed down a bunch. He said that I could be hurt bad if certain people saw me with it.
I told him that I thought it was a truthful book. He said it was but it wasn't the whole story. Over the next few weeks he told me a lot more about Johnson, John Connoly and a lot of people whose names I can't remember. Texas politics can be rough.

I think someone may have been pulling your leg.
No flame intended.
Does Clinton have the same type of protection.
I don't think he was pulling my leg. I don't think it was any kind of mafia type organization either. Texas was highly partisan Democrat at the time and it would have been like pulling out a copy of Mein Kampf in a synagogue. Those boys could and did play rough, though. There were counties where there were no blacks allowed at all.
My brother's wife was from Arkansas and knew the Clintons. From her description they were just educated thugs.
Ohhhh Noooooo! Not you doug .. never!! LOL!!
We need you doug .. you embolden the rest of us .. just remember that!!
Thank you, I had not heard about that and was curious. This group the VVAW, exactly what was their agenda??
Well, I'm talking Grass Valley, CA. And I was told hush, hush! And remember my Aunt had to order the book and it came under brown wrapper.
Because John O'Neill has class!! Carvel only made himself look ridiculous - he actually slunk down in his chair & turned his back on O'Neill. Carvel hurt his cause.
BTT!!!!!!!
This is the Group that sKerry started or helped to start. Veitnam Veterans Against the War, they were Vietnam anti-war protesters, ala Jane Fonda.
