Either worry or trust God. That's the way that I see it. BTW, what county are you in? I have heard reports that while there may be some flash flooding due to downpours that there won't be massive flooding as the rivers are below normal levels due to drought here.I don't think we will see massive problems with tress falling if there is o wind. Even though the ground may get saturated they should still hold well without the wind. Of course, I may be wrong. That has happened once or twice before, lol.
I, we, all of us, are so glad to hear from you. Imagine what it's like going about your daily business saying to yourself "I wonder how [string of consonants] is." Not everyone understands this. Kidding aside, it is a great relief to know you are ok. Waiting to hear from musicman whose house was "breathing" the last we heard.
I don't know if this helps but I was watching TWC and the guy said that this storm moving fast so the chance of heavy rain fall reduced.
I'm southeast of you and there's nothing going on here. It's a bit breezy, but nothing out of the ordinary. Stop worrying...about wind damage, anyway.
Yall ok?
150.....???
150!!!!!!
This has got to be the most loss of life from a storm in decades....going back to perhaps before Donna.
IIRC, Donna only cost 50 lives or so.
My aunt is retired and lives in a mobile home....though not in a park..she has her own lot.
She most certainly is a person who just wants to have her money for other things. And the home is a double wide, so it has plenty of room for just one person.
Yes, I am reminded of Ezekial 25, which I have printed out for myself so that I may carry it with me as I go.
"And I will execute great vengeance upon them with furious rebukes; and they shall know that I am the Lord, when I shall lay my vengeance upon them."
Please continue to pray for the poor souls in Port Charlotte and Punta Gorde as they work to rebuild their homes and lives. I am taking insurance claims at work right now and some of the calls are simply gut wrenching.

Ten confirmed dead in Charlotte County
Ten people are confirmed dead in Charlotte County, and five other storm-related deaths have been reported in other parts of Florida.
Wayne Sallade, Charlotte County's director of emergency management, says hundreds of people are still unaccounted for. He says it may take days to get a final death toll.
Sallade says two or three of Charlotte County's dead were people who had been told before Charley struck to evacuate their mobile home subdivision in Punta Gorda, but they refused.
Police say they're having trouble even getting rescue teams into some mobile home parks because of debris blocking roads.

Sheesh...and again-

Really, the Valley is building up? My parents lived in Conyngham for the first five or so of those years, then they moved up to West Hazleton.
We're in OH now, just moved here 4 months ago, after being in CT, NYC and NJ for the past 12 years. I'm pretty excited about the possibility of finally living in a state where a Republican stands a chance at winning its electoral votes. I'll be devastated if OH doesn't fall to Bush since I've waited so long. :)
150!!!!!!
That is a drop in the bucket (no pun intended about abortion).
We only kill 1.3 million babies a year through abortion. That is about 1500 babies for the 12 hours that Charley went from Port Charlotte out into the Atlantic off Daytona Beach.
If you complain about the loss of human life, and do nothing about abortion, you are a hypocrite.
Even the very liberal magazine Time had as a cover story Life in the womb. They did not say Tissue in the womb -- the article clearly said life in the womb.
The most dangerous place in the United States for Human Life is inside the womb of a woman, where life is supposed to be safe and protected.
Sorry, but innocent life is one thing. Some people, who may have had the means to evacuate, did not, and were killed by this tragic storm.
There is no choice for the Unborn in the womb.
If you contest my point, just watch Silent Scream. It was made by abortionist, who converted, who did 80,000 abortions.
The abortionist who edited Silent Scream had done many, many abortions, but he was made physically sick by the film (he threw up in other words).
I could see myself getting a real mobile mobile home --- those big RV's that you can park somewhere or move when ever that becomes convenient. I bet there were a number of those who were in Florida a few days ago but unhooked themselves from the sewer and water and are now safe in some other state enjoying some other kind of weather. That would be my kind of thing.
My mother has one. It's unbelievable. Slide outs on all sides. A full size living room, kitchen, and bedroom. Washer and dryer.... loaded. It's here "home" wherever home might be:')
That's great - so glad you could check in.
I was very lucky - I spent all my summers in Sarasota in the 70's and early 80s and never encountered a hurricane until Gloria, when I was living in Delaware.
The folks in Charlotte County are definitely in our prayers, as we are only facing it as a tropical storm this evening.
URgent prayers:

The Hurricane Net is shutting down...told everyone to rest up for Tropical Depression 5 which is forming in the Atlantic.
Looks like some heavy precipitation in Rocky Mount, NC.
This has been a busy weekend so far as my daughter is also moving into NCSU today... the hurricane was not in the original plans which were to be hectic without it.
I will sleep well tonight!!!
Looks like the storm has stayed way East of Wake County - so we are aok. Thank you dear Lord!
And good to hear from Freepers in FL being okay. Jerry_M's aunt and uncle have not checked in with him and he is requesting prayer.......
Much prayer tonight for the victims, for thanksgiving there were not more, and for those helping the ones who have no homes to sleep in tonight......God be with them and provide for them through the generous spirits of so many who will come alongside to help now.
Time to scope out the sources of help and make a donation....and some will even go down there to help with the cleanup and provisions......I can't do that - but can give. We can all give something to help.
